RE: Momentum vs others floor decking

What are you planning to haul is a big factor, I'm not sure of the weight allowances of those two units. You'd have to read the warranty details of the decking on the Momentum, to really understand it. I was disappointed when they went to the 1 year warranty, that is a big plus to the KZ.

Don't think I have ever seen anything but a Wrangler with hooks Pretty sure they are standard on the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and at least some of the Jeep Renegade models too. But most common on the newer Wranglers for sure.

RE: Mother of Invention Toy Hauler

I wasn't the only one stopping to take a photo of it, lot of amazement and bewildered looks.

RE: Power issue

Needs to fire up the generator and charge things up. If his batteries are to low to fire up the generator he needs to hook up the power cable for lights/brakes to the truck and fire it up. That should give him enough power to get the generator running. If he's using an inverter to take power from the 12v batteries he could be draining his batteries. Without knowing his battery setup it's hard to say, and not knowing how well he maintains the batteries or their age it's hard to give much advice.

RE: Toyhauler hitch/truck setup

RoyBell talk to the dealer, many have portable scales you can get weighed right on the spot.

RE: Ready 2 hit the road again

Enjoy the trip. I completely agree with making memories. My oldest just finished Grad school and is getting married. I was thankful that I had the time to take our kids on a lot of trips. Looking forward to your trip report and your photos when you return!

RE: ATC Aluminum Trailer Company forum/information

I'd drop hvac that question, he did a lot of research about them.

RE: Gas Buddy 25 cents off ??

From what I gather Costco is cheaper but every time we see one there are 45 minute lineups everyday all day. Thankfully my Costco is never like that, I know where all the Costco Gas Stations are along my routes, mostly in the Northwest, even the busy one in Portland Oregon never takes 45 minutes, backed up like that photo takes about 20. But they also pump the gas so they are more efficient then having drivers do it. They encourage motorhomes to get in the far right late so they will close off late behind you, they know a 75 gallon tank takes a while.

RE: Okay How many RV'ers here use CB-Radio's?

Within the Jeep community they have been pretty common, but starting in 2021 one of the largest Jeep Jamborees will require them, as they announced that CB to be replaced with FRS/GMRS this year.

RE: Power Issue - Automatic Transfer Switch

I had a very similar issue with my 2005 Raptor's ATS. My ATS was behind a wall inside of the front compartment pretty close to where the 50amp cable plug was located. Surprisingly hard to access. With all power off I took the cover off the ATS and tapped it several times with the butt end of a screw driver, and magically when I plugged it in things worked... for a while. I had do pull that trick a few times before I had it replaced. From what others said is they do not play well around dust or dirt, though I think mine was just faulty.

RE: Gas Buddy 25 cents off ??

I don't play their games. I used to love GasBuddy but it's way to much gimmicks and advertising now. Their "card" was the final straw. I save more by just going to Costco to fuel up. I switched to Gas Guru, only 1 add. But since I aim for Costco, even on trips, I just check the Costco app.

RE: ATC Aluminum Trailer Company forum/information

We've had some discussion over in the Toy Hauler forum and a couple owners. You can search for 'atc' on here but that also result in any word with 'atc' in it too. Member hvac owns at ATC so you might go through his posts for info about them. I think they are still seen as mostly a cargo trailer operation, and thus a niche market group, not enough rv style owners to support a dedicated forum.

RE: ScanGauge vs UltraGauge

I've been looking between the two, but I couldn't get past the use of the Comic Sans font by UltraGauge for their wireless unit and their website is a hot mess, which makes me wonder about the quality of their product.

RE: OHV Camping and Riding

Where in OR/WA are you planning on so far? There are some great Sand Dunes in Oregon; Winchester Bay, Florence, Coos Bay & Sand Lake. There are places in Eastern OR too, check out East Fork Rock and the Morrow County OHV park. Oregon Parks & Rec Places to Ride Do be aware as of now most places and camping are closed. Also do check out the section on ATV Safety Card I've seen a lot of out of State riders get burned and have to go into town to get a good signal so they can take the test.

RE: Dutchmen Voltage King Bed Conversion

If you go new, check with the factory often they can sub a King for the Queen in a bedroom. You're right though, not much difference. I've been in the queen version of our current RV and the only difference was the a larger nightstand and of course a lot more room around the bed.

RE: 2018 Grey Wolf 27RR Corner Molding Issue

Thanks for the update g00fy, I wish I could say I'm shocked but with so many Friday End of Shift "Gilligan" Edition trailers I've seen over the years I'm just not surprised anymore.

RE: Grand Design Momentum Class

Do you know if a Winnebago warranty shop works on them? Best - Kelly Generally speaking yes, but that's a question for Winnebago - don't assume yes and don't take a dealers word on it, get it in writing.

RE: Grand Design Momentum Class

Grand Design has a pretty solid reputation, they started off with a can't beat warranty and even supported Full Timers, over the years the full time support has changed, and Winnebago bought the company but they've pretty much left them to operate on their own. The Momentum is a nice setup, I really like the 376THS. It was founded by Don Clark and Ron and Bill Fenech who made Keystone such a strong brand. They left and started GD in 2011 in 2016 Winnebago bought them, but Clark stayed on as the GD CEO and is still there.
