RE: Weekend Warrior Red LED Side Marker replacement?

Thank you! that works really nicely. Happy it worked! careful, my security program blocked that site immediately, there's something there it doesn't like. It's pretty simple and uses IMGUR, but it is not a 'secure' page since it really doesn't need to be, so my guess is that's why. It was put together by one of the Mods here, 1492.

RE: Washington State

So much to see and do. For Mountain camping I would suggest Lake Wenatchee area. San Juan Island is great, but ferry costs can scorch your budget fast. Grand Coulee Dam great, specifically Steamboat Rock State Park is very nice, but this area can get very hot in the summer and it's a lot more fun with a boat. I would also second Fort Stevens in Oregon, large campground near the mouth of the Columbia. Any campground in Oregon & Washington you want to start reserving asap.

RE: 2nd to Wrangler what are the best toad options?

You might be looking for a Unicorn. Oddly enough a search of the archives for 'Subaru 2014" returns no results. :(

RE: 2nd to Wrangler what are the best toad options?

According to the Motorhome Magazine towables chart the 2014 (just the age I thought I might want to purchase) is towable with no restrictions (manual transmission only). So you've done step one, now hop online and google the owners manual for that same car, often manufacturers have them online. Verify that, but final step is the actual manual that shipped with the vehicle.

RE: 2nd to Wrangler what are the best toad options?

Anybody towing a manual Subaru (Outback, Legacy, Impreza, Voloster, etc? If so, do you have to do anything other than put it in neutral? I don't think many Subaru's are flat towable, you can take a look at the Dinghy Guides you can also check the Remco Towing Store as a quick reference, but you need to always verify with the owners manual.

RE: Tow Package Installation

Do you know which tow parts you want to use? Such as Blue Ox, Road Master or Demco? Each should have a Dealer locator on their website. From there you can use that to do some searching on reviews from the various locations. You can get request quotes from each and decide based on reviews and price quotes.

RE: The best Wranglers for towing?

Base curb weight of a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-door) Sport is 4,201 lbs. while the Rubicon comes in around 4,439 lbs. A two door (non-Unlimited) Sport is 3,970 lbs and the Rubicon 4,160 lbs. The newer 2019’s do get better MPG, but if you are buying a Wrangler for MPG you are getting it for the wrong reason. I suppose if you lay the rear seats down in an Unlimited you could sleep, but the valley between the seats and back in my 2011 would be awfully uncomfortable. I don’t know if the rear seats in the 2019 lean back, the other JKs didn’t as a result there were after market blocks to tilt them back a bit, to make longer drives more comfortable. What are you looking to tow it with? your current setup? Or a Motorhome? What is the hitch rated for and what is the vehicle rated for. I see a lot of both 2-door and 4-doors being towed, with the 4-door being more popular. Trying to get 3-4 people in a 2-door is not an enjoy able experience unless the top is off.

RE: 2019 Toyota RAV4 FWD

To echo what's been said REMCO Towing says AWD - Must be towed using a trailer FWD - Must be towed on a tow dolly. Please confirm in owner's manual. They don't give any REMCO options.

RE: Heartland Fuel vs. Cruiser Stryker

It is my understanding that Heartland RVs acquired Cruiser a few years ago.Not that it really matters but Thor acquired Cruiser & DRV in 2015 under the Heartland umbrella, all are owned my Thor Industries though.

RE: I take back all the good stuff I've said about Les Schwabs!

When I first started driving I went to Les Schwab, I was pretty much a life long customer until they lost me. The reality is that after Les passed away the company changed. I had two close family friends that were career Schwab guys, both of them pretty much got screwed over by the new Les Schwab company. For me they refused to stand behind their tires, and as a life long customer I was really shocked. When I asked about their slogan, "IF WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE IT, WE WILL NOT SELL IT " they said these tires had no warranty. I walked away for them 10 years ago and I've never been back. Every time I do get a quote for tires or service they are the absolute highest out there. Thankfully my locally owned Tire Factory takes care of me, and wouldn't you know the owner is also a former Schwab guy. They used to be good at least.

RE: Can a 2017 VW Jetta manual transmission be towed?

Swampman597 if the service tech will put that in writing on company letterhead go for it. Otherwise it's great for conversation but if you have any issues they are not going to support you.

RE: About to GO Full Time

If Winnebago did buy GD then the QC will be in the toilet as FR or THOR bought Winnebago I believe. Regardless we when we were shopping for our current 5er we looked at Winnebago and the quality was worse than most. Winnebago is not part of either Forest River or Thor they are traded on the NYSE as WGO. They bought the assets of SunnyBrook RV Inc, then in 2016 they bought Grand Design, in 2019 the assets of Chris-Craft, and just recently Newmar.

RE: About to GO Full Time

You might also want to visit the Full-time RVing forum on this site. Quality is subjective and varies. Reality is an RV build on Monday might be great, one built on Friday might have major problems. A good dealer and warranty is very important. Need to use the RV some before you got full time so you can get the bugs out. You need to look into the warranty coverage both manufacturers and if you buy an extended warranty to make sure they will cover your full time living. Some manufacturers will not cover at all if you full time in you RV. That's a huge potential issue. I do believe that Grand Design RV doesn't play that game, but that may have changed. You should verify it and see it in writing, don't listen to a sales persons word.
