Hardeeville SC to Columbia SC

Has anyone taken SC321 from Hardeeville to Columbia? Pulling a 43' fifth wheel. Will I have issues? Wanting to stay off of I-95 as it is in awful shape.

RE: 2024 GMC and 2023 Super Duty

Dealer markups seem to have gone away around here. With the vehicles I see starting to pile up on the dealer's lots I expect to see some serious discounts soon. Maybe in your part of TN but not ours. Local dealer just got in a F-450 Limited and has a $20K add on.F-450 Knoxville dealer showing Chevy duallies with a $5K add.3500 Lots are still pretty much empty here. Have lower level trims on vehicles, not much upper.

Looking at the picture you posted you should be using city water only and no tank fill.

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

Can't order a GM heavy duty right now, March before order boards open. I don't know where you get your info but I am told GM orders start 12-12 for the 2024 models. Both Chevy and GMC are advertising those 2024s will be on lots late spring 2023. I stand corrected. It is Jan. 26, 2023 for crew cabs. Element

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

Ram Canada MSRP is up about 7k from 2022. It’s a fairly small dealership I talked to and they have a ‘22 Longhorn dually on the lot. He thinks they could likely find a dealer that would swap for a Limited. I was told 8 to 12 weeks if I order a ‘23. The only difference I’m aware of from ‘22 to ‘23 is power extend mirrors. 8 to 12 weeks isn't bad.

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

^^^ Yep. Folks should be pondering why that is, instead of all the distractions they get lathered up about. And by the same token, I have no issue with people being stupid with their money. Buy new and buy often is my motto to them! I'm trying to take your advise but buying often is proving to be kind of difficult. They rolled my latest '22 order into a '23 and it will likely be a year before I see it. I've already had to do on oil change on my current rig, :B. Just for kicks I'll be calling the Ram store today to find out what the wait time is on new dually. If you consider a Ford, you better do it today. The 2023 Superduty order board is closing today. From what I understand, for a dealer to order there has to be someone's name on the order, so no dealer stock orders. Can't order a GM heavy duty right now, March before order boards open. Interesting to hear what Ram says. One Youtuber showed ordering a Ram dually and said he was looking at up to a year before arrival. So much for the lots filling back up.

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

Please give this dealers name as he might have what I am looking for. I am also interested in these big discounts you talk of. Just get on Autotrader and see who's offering discounts. Search nationwide and by lowest price for a specific model or keyword and the info appears right in front of you. This thread is not going anywhere. Especially since the "expert" car dealer has chimed in.... I am wanting to see this dealer that Pbutler97 is talking about. No need to do a search when he has a dealer that has this many vehicles on the lot and is discounting. Sorry, my bad. I thought you were looking for a truck, not just providing a sarcastic passive aggressive reply to his post... Carry on! I am looking for a new truck. So it looks like you aren't the psychiatrist you thought you were.

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

In Sept 2019 there were 3.45 million new units in dealer inventories. That is a number that has been over 4 million in the past. At the end of September 2022 dealers had 1.23 million units in stock which would include those ordered sold but not yet delivered or reported sold. One might imagine there is a long way to go before you could consider them plentiful! Love obscure stats from the Googler, like when announcers find weird stats about athletes … “Tom Brady has won 8 out of 10 games on a Monday night with a full moon…” type of thing. All I know is around here, one of the MOST expensive places in the country to buy, well, about anything except seafood maybe, RV lots that were empty for 2 years are chock full, just about every dealer. Car dealers are filling back up. Very quickly and noticeably. And since I happen to be truck shopping, have noticed that in other parts of the country, some trucks (half tons) are being offered at significantly lower than msrp again, and that trend increases by what seems to be weekly. I’m increasingly confident that by the next presidential election, the country’s economy will be sitting approximately at the Rio Grande river! (It will have gone that far south…lol) Unfortunate for some. I can’t wait for it to happen from a personal financial perspective. I am sure you are right. It is much more accurate to ride around in your neighborhood and make your own assessment instead of looking at actual statistics. As a forty year new car dealer now retired, I somewhat know how this deal works and I will stick with actual real numbers! Well, as a car dealer, why would so many dealers be suddenly offering big discounts again if inventory is still only about 1/3 of “normal?” That’s really scary cause it must mean even less than 1/3 of the “ normal “ amount of customers are buying certain types of vehicles? 3 months ago and for a year and a half previous to that, a local Ford dealer was telling everyone anything you wanted was 4-6 months out and with an added across the board $5K "market adjustment". Saturday they had 39 F-150s and 23 Super Duty's on the lot. Not in transit, not pre sold. They even have 15 Broncos lined up all in a row. As a thirty year new vehicle buyer, now working his butt off, I somewhat know how this deal works lol. Please give this dealers name as he might have what I am looking for. I am also interested in these big discounts you talk of.

RE: Ordering a ‘23 Powerstroke

I agree with the not good news. Looking at retiring and thinking of getting my last truck. Haven't got to talk to my dealer yet, but hear there is very limited allocations for dealers.

RE: Ordering a ‘23 Powerstroke

I’m planning on ordering a ‘23 Super Duty as soon as the order banks open. I don’t need more power and I’ll probably only keep the truck for a year. How many of you are going to be willing to pay an extra $1500 (just a guess) for a high output Powerstroke? Is the larger turbo of the high output going to cost more at the pumps? I think justifying the Cummins high output is a little easier as it includes the Aisin transmission. The only way it makes sense for me with the Powerstroke is if I’m going to get my money back on the resale. So are you going to order a XL or XLT this time? Options going to be limited for a while. Took the following off a Ford forum. The Super Duty Order Bank for Job 1 orders will open 10/27/22 with production beginning in early February. The only Models that will be produced for Job 1 are XL, XLT, and Lariats. Note: XLTs with Tremor package will not be produced until Job 2. Lariats will only be available with limited options. The Order Bank will accept and price Job 2 in late February. This will include all Models as it will expand out to include King Ranch, Platinum, Limited as well as full line of options for the XLT and Lariat. Production on Job 2 will start in April.

RE: Ordering a ‘23 Powerstroke

From what I have read the high output will include a water cooled turbo and some other parts.

I use and Extang tri-fold cover. No rails to worry about and gives you half way dry storage when towing. Trifecta

RE: Want a new truck?

Stopped in the local friendly Ford dealer this morning, they had a 22 F 250 loaded up XLT CC, 6 1/2' bed,7.3 gas up on the ramps near the highway. Could of drove it home for $8K over sticker lol. The sales manager told me Ford has stopped building Super Dutys, if you order today the earliest one can expect it is May 2023......maybe, and said expect msrp to go up across the board $4K by then. They had a shiny silver F-150 lightning waiting to be delivered, it went for $25K above sticker. They just furloughed 6 sales people. People are out of their minds. Actually, you haven't been able to order a superduty since March when they shut the order board down. The 2023 order board is showing it will open up Oct. 13 as of now with production starting 1-3-23. As for 4K, I wouldn't be surprised. I have noticed there has been a little inflation going on. :h
