RE: Utah national parks

Zion and Brice canyon Parks are restricted area, parking in the parks is limited. do your home work.
The rest of state is wide open.
We parked the coach, and use the car for the Parks.

RE: Help With Figuring Out Which Trucks Will Work For A Camper

I'm trying to figure how what kind of truck I need for a camper, and after doing some research I'm still a bit confused.
The lightest campers I've found in my general area/budget are in the range of 1,700 - 1,900 lb. From my understanding, this would be too heavy for a half-ton truck in most cases (in addition to the dry weight of the camper, I've estimated that I'll need another 800 lb for passengers, max fresh/grey/black water, and misc. items, plus I added a 10% buffer... this comes out to a total payload of about 2,900 lb).
So it looks like this might work for some three-quarter ton trucks, but more likely I'll need a full-ton truck? I know it will depend on the particular year/make/model/trim, but I was hoping to avoid full-ton trucks due to the cost. Am I making any mistakes in my approach here? And are most trucks fine for campers as-is as long as the payload capacity fits, or is it also recommended to upgrade stuff like the suspension/tires/etc. regardless?
Any help would be much appreciated.
we used a 1 ton dually, for 4 years, get the biggest truck you can a 450 dually preferable. these bigger campers sway a lot.
We see a few frame mounted campers that an idea too.

RE: Inverter and battery sizing to power my camper microwave

You should be fine. . .power wise.. but be certain that you have the proper alternators simply because the truck batteries will be lead acid, and the camper will be Latium. they charge at different voltage.
SO.. you will need a added charger for the Lithium side of the system.

RE: Generator question

in either case.. you will be carrying a generator, might as well carry one that will do the job, we carry a ONAN 7.5k with a 50 amp chord that can be plugged into the 5th wheel of any place you need. want 50 amp power from a post, simply plug the 5th wheel into the post. no post? use the gen/set into the 5th wheel.
remember,,,, to vent the Generator properly.

RE: Texas Hill Country

Recommendations for your favorite campgrounds in this area? We generally prefer State Parks, county parks, COE campgrounds. We like some hiking, wildlife viewing, scenic drives, looking at water, a bit of kayaking and maybe bicycling. Historic sites nearby are a plus.
Traveling in April.

RE: generator fuel line

Be certain that there is more than 1/4 of a tank of fuel in the fuel tank. there is a stand pipe in the tank so you don't ru the engine out of fuel.. running the engine out of fuel causes big problems.
