RE: Buy Register A Car While Traveling?

Ask for an "intransit permit" This will give you the credentials to take the vehicle to Texas and register there. Your choice on route you take to Texas. I did this when I purchased my motorhome in NY and registered in PA. But I drove to PA via FLORIDA for the winter. Make certain you have insurance.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

I've had DNS for 20 years. I received both E & W. $20 a month. Worked well and my wife and I will miss it.

RE: And Texas Caves In

The last bastion of sanity has jumped on the "stay at home" bandwagon. They just sent me an email that they have closed all state parks to save the 1% who may die from the dreaded super virus. Texas was once a great state. What if your family contracts this virus?

RE: And Texas Caves In

Insanity is not staying home and exposing yourself during a serious very contagious epidemic. Look at New York. Look at New York.

RE: WIX oil filter for Onan genny?

Genuine Onan oil filters are very reasonably prices. I have always used them. Why use any aftermarket brand?

RE: Wifi extender using a satellite dish?

Sat dishes will work if you place the USB wifi adapter at the focal point of the dish.

RE: trik-l-start

The trik-l-start does not take power from your deep cycle house batteries and give it to your starting battery. Technically, it takes power from your charger/converter and charges your starting battery. The starting and house batteries are completely isolated. Quote from LSL website: Connects between your house and starting batteries - No extension cords or AC wiring needed. https://i.imgur.com/lmAW1kWl.gif True, but your diagram does not show the charger/converter connected to the house batteries. Without the charger/converter connected to the house batteries the engine battery will not charge. The trik-l-charger supplies a charge from the charger/inverter to the engine/starting batteries. The engine/starting battery is normally only charged by the engine alternator. Again the house batteries does not supply power or charge the starting engine battery.

RE: Typical problem we all see in RV parks.

There are state & federal idling laws because of air pollution. Google idling laws, print them out and give to the offender.

RE: Tesla is now accepting reservations for semis

With everyone buying online there is an untapped market for delivery vehicles that are cheap to operate. Driver less robotic electric is the future in transportation, IMHO.

RE: Campsite Sanitation - Beware

I've seen the rinse the sewer hose out under the drinking water faucet more times than I want to remember. Clorox and most other disinfectants need a couple hours to do their job. But, a quick spray is better than nothing. I'm not a doctor, I'm a retired chemist. ;-)

RE: Stopping at flying j, Cracker Barrel etc

I parked at the Brunswick, GA Cracker Barrel many times. Sometimes I tow a car. I never park in an Bus/RV spot. I always go in AFTER the dinner rush is over and many parking spots are available. I park behind the Bus/RV spots across 5 or 6 car spots. Never had a problem. Once we ate dinner upon arriving and mentioned to the manager we were staying the night in their parking lot. The same manager was there in the morning when we ate breakfast. The manager picked up our breakfast check! I like CB much better than the wild and crazy FlyingJ parking. I stopped overnight parking at FJs years ago.

RE: Orangeburg,SC to Callahan,Fl via 301

I can't recall ever need gas on the 301 routes. I would think checking gasbuddy.com and then google maps would give you some answers. Please reply here after taking the 301 route and give us your thoughts. Where are you in Pittsburgh? You can PM me for a more private reply. I'm in Sarver off route 28, ~30 miles NE of Pgh.

RE: Orangeburg,SC to Callahan,Fl via 301

I'm also from near Pittsburgh and have travel many different routes to FL over the years. I've traveled 301 from Orangeburg to Callahan and just about every other route to and from Pgh to FL. It's a nice leisurely route with little traffic. Mostly local traffic with a few FL bound RV'ers ever so often. 301 used to be a main route south before I-95 was built. You'll see some remnants of 30's and 40's road side businesses. Surprisingly much of 301 is 4 lanes, but not limited access. I like this route.
