RE: Is 50 gallons of fresh water enough for boondocking?

Let me know where you boondock as I can avoid the odor coming off your family. I would much rather be clean than worry about water usage.

RE: Bounder decals

RE: Are Newmar coaches constructed better than others?

My indication about Fleetwood was Newmar hired a CEO away from Fleetwood. If I confused anyone, sorry. So glad your happy with your three Newmars, happy trails. My point is everyone has an opinion about THEIR RV. I could give a million reasons to buy Tiffin, but buyer beware, do your research about the RV your interested in. Good luck. Did you miss the not knocking Newmar, seems I hit some marshmallow feelings.

RE: Are Newmar coaches constructed better than others?

What answers you get here are from people who justify their purchase. I am not knocking Newmar, just stating a fact. Prior to buying my Tiffin Phaeton, I toured many factories and was laughing at some of the things I saw and heard. I even went to Tiffin and rejected that model year because of the cheap rubber roof they were installing. Remember what you read here is biased, you roll the dice when you make a purchase, ALL manufacturers build some bad stuff. The difference is I can call Tiffin and talk to Bob, call Newmar and ask to talk to the CEO. Bob stands behind his vehicles. As far as the three year warranty, when Virgil passed away, Newmar hired a Fleetwood exec to run Newmar, he stated in RV Business that due to the bottom line (money) they are going back to a one year warranty. If they are built so good, why stop the three year warranty?

Please, isn't it time to close this thread? I don't think anyone is going to read three thousand responses.

RE: Residential fridge and dry camping

Tiffen says "a residential frig will need the Jenny run once a day with six six volt batteries". I personally don't want a residential frig, more batteries to replace and wear and tear on the Jenny. Tiffin offers the option of an RV refrig, adding the propane at build time. People seem to exaggerate the time they run without recharging the batteries to justify their purchase of the residential frig. I will take the manufacturers word before anyone on this forum.

RE: Coachmen Motor Home Warranty issue

I have used Mag-Moss and did tons of research about lemon laws. The Feds actually place the box of a motorhome under Hud. No lemon law covers the box. Mag-Moss states that a product must be able to be used for the purpose sold, it doesn't exclude rv's. This is the voice of experience attempting to help a fellow rver. Yes it is a long process and the manufacturer will break the law trying to repair the coach. There are inspections to take the coach to and hoops to jump through but it works. Took me almost a year for a settlement.

RE: Coachmen Motor Home Warranty issue

What you can do is use the Federal Manuson-Moss Consumer Protection Act. Basically it states if a product is out of service 30 working days, the manufacturer must buy it back. Attorney on a contingency basis can solve your problem with one letter and get paid by the manufacturer. There is NO lemon law on the house portion just the chassis. I doubt the Texas attorney general will be able to help. Document everything involved with the coach and keep a complete timeline of .
