RE: Window Tint

My windows are a bronze colored glass but I wouldn't classify them as tinted in the respect that they reflect heat. In fact, they may even absorb more heat because of the color.

RE: Window Tint

Can anyone speak to doing it on the RV windows? Our 5th wheel is a hot box and contemplating window tinting or awnings.

RE: 2020 vs 2021 Model

I would knock 35% off MSRP and make that offer. Then be prepared to increase but I would not go beyond 31 or 32% off MSRP. Sounds like you are dealing for a fifth wheel. Dealer #2 is already at 33.2% off but it's a year older. I would want a 2021 model if it were me. I'm not sure that I would want a pandemic period manufactured model suspecting that quality is even less than the questionable build quality of RV's built at any other time. FWIW, I just bought a brand new 2019 model boat and saved a lot. There is no way that I could have afforded the current year model which BTW is identical.

RE: Converting Small BBQ to Propane (help needed)

I have done this with more than one propane device. In some cases I have been able to cut off the end of a hose that has one correct end and add the right fitting on the other end via a barbed fitting and hose clamp. In other instances I have spliced 2 hoses with a barbed coupler.

RE: Tow King Tires

Are you sure they are Tow King? I have had Power King Towmax tires on my boat for years and the name sounds too close.

RE: What truck do I need to pull this trailer

My 2006 Dodge Dually pulls our 5th wheel of similar weight with no issues whatsoever. Plenty of power and no DEF.

RE: Battery question

My 24's never read 13 anything for the 2 years that I have owned them. High 12's maybe when taken off an independent charger but settles in at the low 12's after a day or 2.

RE: To Upgrade TV or Not

Or, his problem could possibly be solved with some simple suspension upgrades. If he is not over weight limit for his current TV AND he is okay with the power, have him check out things like air bags and springs.

RE: Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers

Maybe build a table top for a 60"? Even if you found a 72", it would likely still max at 500 lbs.

RE: Foam Mattress Topper

I agree with chast. And per JimK, they've made our home mattress more comfortable as well as our RV. The few inches different in mattress size hasn't been an issue for us.

RE: Food!

There are actually lots of great ready made meals in the stores now. Costco has a Korean Beef that we love, we just have to made some rice. There are some great fresh ravioli that just takes a jar of marinara sauce and some garlic bread. Sam's has my favorite frozen pre-cooked wings, a bag of coleslaw and it is a good meal. Costco General or orange chicken with a carton of fried rice is another easy meal. Well, you get the idea. For desserts, mug cakes are good and super easy. I also like baking the Krusteaz triple chocolate cookies.

RE: recipes

down home, the walk in at all the Mickey D's we see while traveling are closed and going through the drive thru with a trailer is out of the question. Find a place in town with open doors and it is the most popular place in town now.

RE: Real-life experience blocks to aid 6-point leveling system

I found that I would lift my tires off the ground on many occasions when on uneven ground without using the leveling blocks. I don't want my tires off the ground EVER! The site we stay in each summer is pretty uneven side to side. If I don't back the one side onto a couple of 2 x 10's the tires come off the ground. FWIW, I put blocks under each jack for shorter leg extension, thus more stability as well.

RE: recipes

For me personally, the site software and PITA they make posting pictures was enough to make me inactive.

RE: 75 Speed Limit - How Fast

70 if I'm driving and 75 - 80 if the wife is driving.

RE: Temporary Transport Film?

Okay, I used some carpet film from Lowe’s to tow my new boat home, 740 miles from Oregon and it worked flawlessly. No rock chips!

RE: Poor workmanship -- Entry Level VS Higher Price ????

I always thought that they were paid piece work rate for speed hence the poor quality.

RE: Poor workmanship -- Entry Level VS Higher Price ????

Poor quality in both, higher end is usually materials and sometimes framing.

RE: What's Your "Theme"?

Our 5th wheel has virtually no open wall space for so much as a clock or picture. The majority of our dinnerware is paper.

RE: Truck Camper Northern Lite 811

We went many years with our truck camper before switching to the 5th wheel. Lots of advantages to each. I miss being able to tow my boat on every trip with the truck camper. We had an Eagle Cap that was a very fine camper at the time.
