RE: I-40 Anything worth seeing

We're museum people, and always enjoy the National Cowboy & Western Museum in Oklahoma City.

RE: Pet Peeves long road trip

Almost 50 years ago my driver's ed teacher said, "Always remember that every driver on the road thinks that they are the best driver ever, and that no one else knows how to drive." It seems that 50 years later that is still true.

RE: Wi Fi boosters

WiFi boosters can, in many cases, boost the signal you receive. They cannot boost the speed. (Maybe minor increase because less re-transmission of packets, but negligible.) So you will receive a better connection to slow internet speed.

RE: Any good/cheap electric razor for camping?

I got the previous model (3000) about 6 months ago for travel, and liked it so well I use it every day now. Battery lasts about 3 weeks for me. Norelco 3100

RE: ongoing generator issue

I would think that an Micro-air easy-start or softstart rv for the AC would solve the problem. I won’t go without it again.

RE: Do useless gifts bug you like they bug me?

I told my family a long time ago that if I really wanted it, I would have already bought it. If I don't have it, it's because I don't want it. A phone call or FaceTime with my son is perfect for any occasion.

RE: Colored party globe lights for awening? ...yeah, I know

Just curious, is this more of an East coast thing? I've never seen it out West. Maybe we've just been very lucky.

RE: How to Block Text & Calls on the Iphone.

JMO but we have gotten calls from an unknown number only to find out it was from our great-granddaughter, age 8, who borrowed a friend's phone because hers was dead. She needed us to come pick her up. Sorry, I'll put up with some spam calls and such in order to answer a needed call. Agreed. I tried it for a couple days a long time ago when it first came out, then switched it back. Missing legitimate calls defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone.

RE: Defunct RV Brand Yakima WA

You might be thinking of Alpine Western RV. It did have a great reputation, but they didn't survive the 2008 recession. I found a little info on them. Alpine Western RV

RE: Devil's canyon UT

The maps provided by are just wretched. Yes. Even when working down the campsite list on the left of; which highlights the location on the map on the right, it gets screwed up starting at site 14. Some sites don't even show up. That's because not all of the sites in this park are reservable. Some are first-come. Only the reservable ones show up.

RE: Need advice on towing cargo trailer

Just for kicks I pulled out the invoice for my move from Seattle to Tucson when I retired. I moved no appliances--they stayed with the house, and got rid of all furniture except living room, family room, and two bedrooms. Also moved almost none of my tools, maybe a couple hundred pounds. It came in at 7060 pounds.

RE: Do You Trust Hitch Locks?

On my ATV trailer I use a locking pin similar to those above, plus a hitch anti-rattle, Not so much for the anti-rattle, but as a secondary means of securing the hitch for added peace of mind.

RE: Small Class C with out tow car

Do any of you carry an E bike to run around in? I do, but you should be aware of some caveats. First, the ebike (mine is a RadRover) is fairly heavy at 60 pounds with the battery removed. My rear hitch is 23" off the ground. My bike rack (1up-usa super duty with fat tire kit) raises it another 4" so you need to be able to lift 60 pounds more than 2 feet off the ground. Also there is only so much you can carry in a backpack, limiting how much you can use it for shopping. I do use it far more often around the house than I do out camping. When camping it is mostly for exploring dirt roads when boondocking when I don't bring my ATV. So I love the freedom of traveling without a towed vehicle (except occasionally the ATV on a trailer), but we're really good about planning what we need and stopping at stores before we get to the campground. Of course, it is much easier to stop at stores when you're not towing.

RE: Towing or packing a Smart Car on the back of a Class A

I considered it at one point. Kendon makes a trailer specifically for the Smart car that can be stood on end to take up less space when not being used.
