RE: Smaller Propane Tanks

What are you paying per gallon? $19.99 for an exchange doesn't seem that bad to me.

Smaller Propane Tanks

Any issues ditching the 40lb tanks and going with 20lb on an RV, other than how to mount them? I've gotten a year out 40lbs before. I don't use them for heating and its just a LOT more convenient to do an exchange at the grocery store than hunt down a fueling station.

RE: Why shouldn't I go this route? (AC Roof Delete)

By current ductwork, you mean the furnace ducts? I can't imagine it would cool very well blowing at your feet. Think I'd rather have the topside A/C since cool air falls.

RE: Schwintech slide system

Hey, right off the bat my new Northwood Nash 23D had the Schwintech slide jamb up on me. Got the factory to replace it and it seems to be doing fine now. However, in my research on the net I've found lots of horror stories about the system. I know most postings are about problems and not successes, however, I would like to hear from anybody who has NEVER had a problem with their Schwintech slide and what they've been doing to keep it that way.
Never had Schwintek but I've had hell with my cable slides if it makes you feel better?

RE: air compressors

Ryobi, battery powered and I recharge while driving with the 1500’s 120 volt plugs.
Same here, Ryobi One+. You screw it on, set the psi you want, walk away and it automatically shuts off when done. Plus, it'll inflate tubes or air matresses. Oh, and the battery fits like 175 other tools.
Best thing since sliced bread!

RE: Thor or Forest River - Warranty and reputation

All 4 of my rv's were made by Forest River. The first 3 weren't too bad but my latest 2018 Sandpiper gives me nightmares.

RE: TT When Solo....OR Truck Camper?

I was thinking of a pop up TC....like a Hallmark Guanella or FWC Hawk.
My first trailer was basically a hi-low with canvas sides like a pop-up. I loved that trailer for boondocking. You could open the sides up to get a breeze and stay pretty comfortable inside up to around 80 degrees.
The downside is I found the plastics around the windows get really brittle in cooler weather < 45 degrees F. After a few cracks, I swore I'd never have another.

RE: TT When Solo....OR Truck Camper?

This thread caught my eye as I'm contemplating going from a 32' 5th wheel to a TC. Its usually just me and the dog and the trailer is huge to clean and haul around. I don't like going through gas stations with it and the 5-6mpg doesn't help that. Its 50 amp and 3 slides. I can't cool it in the summers with 2 a/c's, making boondocking impractical. I miss pulling up next to the water and doing some real camping.
The cons would be the size of the holding tanks and lack of ammenities in the TC's I can haul in my F250. Looking at a Palomino HS-1803. Not sure about a wet bath, no bathroom sink and no closet? But maybe you have more than a 3100lb payload.

RE: Looking for recommendations on a two bike rack

I carry my mountain ebike in the back seat of my F250 crew. One fits tightly lengthwise. I just strap a bungy around it and the headrest. Rides good. With two bikes, you'd probably need to remove the front wheels as mentioned.
