Torklift GlowStep

I rent a storage unit for my RV. When centered into my spot, I could not lower my prior solid steps without hitting my neighbor's boat. I could not access the interior of my RV without moving over significantly and possibly causing problems for my neighbor on the other side. I was giftted a set from Torklift and was hoping that the GlowStep scissor steps would allow entrance. Installation is very easy for anybody with minimal mechanical skills. Once set up, the GlowStep materials seem to be high quality and it feels safe and sturdy with my 230lb frame. The manufacturer gives a 350lb rating and that is plenty for most adults, even with both arms full of camping gear or groceries. It is aesthetically pleasing, it has more height/length adjustments then my original and it folds up small. Of course the last point is my favorite, as I can now access the interior of my trailer while in storage. It is simply more functional than my old solid step. Very happy with this upgrade! https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/344734848_1000172434306505_7846121572137668899_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0debeb&_nc_ohc=zm5NqEhcUhMAX9v2i2U&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfBpQHbRXWqwEVFW7q_V7_NvbTcTDtHclbXUNN2HrhRHiw&oe=6459C861 height=400 width=400 https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/344867872_901418880971993_6584095717644953610_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0debeb&_nc_ohc=C1_JVEmzpccAX-i7RBN&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCRqAFsD78pgOn7lx5jLtKoBkjxWfwFoW12RIEEV9KpNA&oe=6458C06A height=400 width=400 https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/344031547_921324322250816_5589399501288832175_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0debeb&_nc_ohc=5HhxD1EHHA0AX_X_ku3&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfBMRb53nG674cyiSpmUZkU3AhSpb6D4rlqwhX0GDLaNZA&oe=6458B9D3 height=400 width=400 https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/344114848_1191569231540835_8244780045790642387_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0debeb&_nc_ohc=AnzAgPchGukAX_1CyC2&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfAEk0EtG6qE8wv_5gl3sMQqipR6By_AKpdQmODXhIZYHQ&oe=645944CD height=400 width=400

RE: Replacing solid steps with folding steps

the fact still remains that I would not be able to, like thousands of others, access my rig in my current storage (that I paid to build) without hooking it up, pulling up the jacks and pulling it forward 25' so the [email protected] steps could go down so I could get in. This was my problem as well. Torklift GlowSteps fixed it. https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/344114848_1191569231540835_8244780045790642387_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0debeb&_nc_ohc=AnzAgPchGukAX_1CyC2&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfAEk0EtG6qE8wv_5gl3sMQqipR6By_AKpdQmODXhIZYHQ&oe=645944CD height=400 width=400

RE: ebike for a heavy rider?

I have a Velowave 750w. Pretty decent ebike for the money. I was 240lbs when I got it. Carries me easily. I will say a good 'regular' bike is a better investment. Cheaper and will last longer.

RE: Water works in bathroom, but Kitchen sink is just a trickle

Clean the faucat screen, possible fillter for the sink. Check hot water heater bypass valves and outside water valves closed. Check that the heater is working and producing hot water. Had one trailer I used for a year or so and got tired of the trickle in the bathroom. Brushed my teeth SO many times. Cleaned out the screen to find half a cockroach. Ugh...don't put it off.

RE: Question about double towing

Pulled a few trains in my time. I was never comfortable and I stopped after seeing the boat in the lane next to me. Horrible idea imo.

RE: using a cargo carriers on my travel trailer

Carried a 100lb generator and 5 gallon gas can on a cargo rack for years with no issues but wouldn't recommend it. Not worth it if something does go wrong. My $.02.

RE: TT Hitch qutestions

I think you'd be wasting your money buying another hitch. The Shocker looks like a gimmick to me.

RE: Replacing solid steps with folding steps

Can't get my solid steps open in storage. Thanks for the question.

RE: Pets left alone in RV at campground?

If you need to go grocery shopping, then surely one of you can go to the store . So explain again who's going to the store, me or the dog???? Think you're being a little presumptuous.

RE: Pets left alone in RV at campground?

Shades down, leave the TV on with noise. The reason dogs bark is because they are reacting to external stimulation. If they can't discern it from an internal source, they don't bark. But there a few on here I'd let my dogs poop on their site. Probably the same grumpy old farts that blast their TV every evening because they are half deaf. My dogs can quite easily discern a noise coming from outside versus inside regardless of whether they can see. And a dog who barks at knocking or a doorbell will often bark at those sounds on a tv. So I'd be inclined to say the exact opposite is true: Dogs barks at various noises and they can't always discern it's coming from a tv or radio, so they may well bark even if there's nothing there. I only have experience with about 20 dogs, I admit that's limited. But never had an issue, even with yappers. So, pretty much calling BS. And if that is the case I'd question how much noise your making to stimulate the dogs. Ps- your rv has a doorbell....people knock?

RE: 1/2 Inch Drive Corded or Battery Impact Wrench

Ryobi One+ batteries work with like a 100 plus tools and they are affordable. Been accumulating and have loved every one. Jobsite speaker, 150w power source, drill, circular saw, vacuum, lantern, compressor and still going. About to buy a fan for when I dry camp.

RE: Rv TV

My employer doesn't like me to disconnected and sends a mobile hotspot with me when I travel. I use it for work and to stream to a smart tv. Works good.

RE: Locked Out...Sorta

Hope you are headed back to the dealer! It would be complete BS if they did not take care of that any any other little details. I could take it back for about $80 in fuel and 4-5 hours of my time. Or, I can fix it myself for about $20 in parts (OK, $30 including a six pack) and 2-3 hours of my time. Truth! Now, the real question, why on earth would the 2 doors be keyed differently? (I understand latches and deadbolts are generally/always different...also dumb) That would be like keying each door on your house different or each car door if they still had manual key locks. Yet my first 3 trailers all used the exact same key for storage????:S

RE: Locked Out...Sorta

After several tries, WD40 finally did the trick. Thanks for the responses. Now to problem #2. My TV sits crooked on the swing mount and its driving me crazy! :h #3, my shower needs some caulking...easy fix. #4, the front screen door isn't latching...also easy...I think. Its winterized and I'll use the next few months to get it ready for spring. The good news is, after the maiden voyage, these are the only real annoyances. Nothing major. Everything else is working well.
