RE: Securing our pooch

I have a cushioned, chest harness for my 90 lb chocolate labrador retriever. It has connection rings at the front and rear of the handle which I tether to the seat belt of the couch. The tethers are 3 feet and I can hook two together which permits him to get off the couch for water or a stretch. For the most part, he sleeps while we are driving. He insists that we stop for a short walk every 90 minutes of driving. In the event of a sudden stop, he is protected in a crash.

RE: The latest on Oregon State Parks

It will certainly be welcome when Oregon again fully opens their state parks. Oregon has the best state park system of any of the 49 states I have visited. As an out of state visitor, I trust them to do the right thing.

RE: Question for those out on the road now

Has anyone run into problems with gas stations being closed? I wonder if Oregon will consider allowing people to pump their own fuel if employees are not able to work.

RE: Dog travel...USA to Canada

I suggest that you bring with you a record of all your dog's vacinations and treatments for on going conditions. Take a picture of the records on your smart phone for easy access. I've only been asked twice for my dog's rabies certification but I did have to find a Vet in Whitehorse for a medical issue.

RE: Oregon coast in Sept

Oregon State Parks are among the best in the country. While reservations are needed year round at many, some are first come first served. https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=reserve.dsp_firstcome On the coast, Washburn and Cape Blanco have served me well in the past.

Invisibrake for CRV

For those who have an Invisibrake installed on their Honda CRV, what pressure setting have you found works best for your driving? And, do you adjust it when you expect significant mountain driving?

RE: Zephyr Cove Charging $75 a night!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nevada Beach campground which is only about a mile and a half from Zypher Cove. A wonderful campground, if you can get in, run by USFS. No cable tv, no full hookups, no electricity but lots of trees and walking distance to the lake..even a place for dogs to play off leash. Yes, it is also operated by a concessionaire. I seem to recall that it was $35 a night but also takes the old folks discount.
