RE: Route from MA to Myrtle Beach,SC with the least traffic

RVs are prohibited from Merritt Parkway it is true but this trip is by car. The Merritt has arched overpasses and not tall enough for wider taller rigs, some are 9Ft + and some are 12ft + but never would make it with MH for sure. I have a motorhome and would not take it on Merritt or high up on Garden State Pkwy

RE: How to stay warm in cold weather.

well made rigs actually have triple pane glass all around, remember your vents loose a lot of heat so put vent pillows in the vent, if on electric a ceramic heater helps a lot. There are ways of making heat with ceramic pots but would not entertain that thought due to fire hazards. Put bubble wrap on windows or better is the foil bubble wrap. Make sure all seals are good to keep heat in and cold out. Some rigs have insulated basements and covered bottoms so air infiltration is low.

RE: Route from MA to Myrtle Beach,SC with the least traffic

THANKS to you all. WE are now here a few days and are driving back soon. We took 78 to 81 to 66 to 95 basically, now will come back and get to 95 via some local routes and then 95 to 64 to 81 to 78 to 287 to Cuomo Bridge to Merrit Parkway to 91 to 84 to 90 and then home. Will see if it saves time.

Route from MA to Myrtle Beach,SC with the least traffic

So wanting least traffic want to avoid I95 until below DC. Thinking of going out on 84 to 81 at Scranton PA and down 81 to 64 or if there are other routes that bring you from 81South to 95 South to Lumberton NC 74East and we do have a route from there to MYRTLE BEACH SC but is there another route better from 81 to 95 than 64 East? OR Going over the Cumomo Br/Tappen Zee Br and is there a route to get me to 78 ( I will be on 287 going over the Bridge)and 78 West to 81, is there an exit off 87 to 78 directly? Seems going out of my way but seems it will be less traveled and faster? Going tomorrow.

RE: BEST way to get to Myrtle Beach from Boston MA by CAR

HOw do you get from the Tappen Zee Br to 78 West since I do want to go 81South to I 64 to get over to 95 far below DC. I want to avoid any Baltimore or DC traffic and am traveling in a car this time. Leaving tomorrow! More distance is better than sitting in traffic and dealing with bozos on 95 thinking it is a raceway.

RE: Going from West of Boston to Andrews Air Force Base

ferndaleflyer tha last route you suggested did not avoid GW bridge in NY which is HORRIBLE given it takes me down 95 without avoiding the George Washington Bridge. Should be able to Go 95 and then jump up and around the GW bridge but not sure. My best atlas is not with me, it is in my RV so have a really old map and having trouble finding a way around but maybe not so maybe have to go 84 to 81 but seems to really going out of my way to get to Andrews. IF someone has a work around before 8 this morning, PLEASE let me know, otherwise wish me luck!!
Thanks all for your suggestions, knew my RV friends would come through. Taking the car not the RV but still horrible at the GW bridge.

Going from West of Boston to Andrews Air Force Base

Best Route that will NOT take me over the GW bridge and hopefully not through Baltimore on 95. Every route I look at takes me over GW bridge. Can I not take TappenZee Br and then down to 95. I live near 95 can get on at Walpole or can go up 95N to 90E to 84South and then CT 15 Charter Oak etc so what do you all think. WE need to leave by 8 tomorrow morning and would like to get there without huge traffic jams and before dark but that may be too much to ask?
Leaving tomorrow, September 30 2022 WE are traveling by CAR not RV this time, leaving RV at home.
