RE: Diesel Ram Owner Forced to Scrap Truck !

I just ran into something close to this at work. We got a truck from one of our other dealers for a possible trans issue. They took it in on trade and sold it not knowing it had an issue. Well it turns out it’s been, lifted, deleted, tuned, Def tank removed as well as DPF and catalyst. I told them to just wholesale it and be done with it! It will be a problem later on when the customer has to have it tested and they found out we sold it like that! It will cost too much for us to make it stock. Best to sell it in an area where they don’t have inspections and the buyer won’t care! Excuse me for finding it hard to believe a dealer would not find any of all that stuff when doing a trade in valuation. Any time I ever let one value a trade within minutes they could tell me where every single scratch or paint chip was, tires needed replaced as they had put a micrometer on the tread depth, and knew the bumper end cap was replaced with an aftermarket part after a run in with a groundhog. They could also tell I smoked a cigarette in it once on the way home from buying it 5 years earlier. They could not see the DEF tank was gone? Lol. I think your employer needs to fire whoever approved that one immediatly.

RE: Leaking Schwintek slide rail

Have a schwintek slide that leaks at the lower rail and gets the bottom side of the slide wet. I have caulked all along the rail and the mounting screws but some how water still gets thru to the bottom. Done some web searching but haven't been able to find any definitive fixes. Any ideas? Thanks With the slide open and unit level put a level on the rail. Does it have a slight slope to the outside end of the slide? It should so that any water flows to the outside, not through the gasket at the sidewall opening. The way the gasket is designed a hard wind driven rain blowing towards the camper is coming in regardless, but that should be a minimal amount of water.

RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

Good lord. When will it stop? That is a rhetorical question because the answer is NEVER. 4 times a year for an RV. Really? It matters not that it's a five minute or 50 minute inspection, Im sure you guys will be charged an arm and a leg, and every three months for an RV is noting more than pure harassment as PButler says. Guys - you better be careful on what you say on this thread. I posted gas price difference between California and Georgia. And stated in all honesty I was sorry for y'all out in Cali. Thread didn't last long. Mike I believe that was Orcadrvers response about pure harassment, and he screwed up the quote/post, however I agree. Your thread was not shut down, it was totally deleted. Apparently when Time2Roll judged my social standing by asking if I was allowed to have a burn barrel or not. I am allowed, but tires will not fit into it, so I burn them in the pasture along with the plastic pallets. These greenies on here should sell their trailers and tow vehicles and buy tents to pack into an EV, so we know they're seriously walking the walk. Don't hold your breath lol.

RE: Diesel Ram Owner Forced to Scrap Truck !

This thread is about people that remove the smog stuff. Started out that way, then it went full blown hypocrisy.

RE: TFLEV gets disinformation from Cyber Truck fan bois.

The Hummer EV is great if you want a 9,200 lb EV to go a few miles to pick up some smokes at 7-11.:B Says the guy who drives a Van that could hold an entire 2nd grade class and gets about 7mpg highway on a good day with a 30 mph tailwind lol.

RE: Truck Scalping

Just an FYI for people wanting to order a new truck. I had a co-worker that ordered a new F350 with the gas 7.3 on December 31 last year. He just got it last week. Wow!!! Well it will take a while to get things up and running, but the party of Will block all legislation, even good legislation. The people will not get a win from this administration was not able to block legislation to force the move of some chip manufacturing back to America, so things should improve. Nothing better than the party of force. May the force be with you lol. By the way, it's a grant / incentive program which does not force any chip manufacturer into anything as long as they do not accept the incentive. It's great when they handout the taxpayers money to corporations. At least get your facts straight. Those government incentive programs always work well.

RE: Sanitizing your RV water storage tank

How do yall sanitize you water storage tank. Per NFPA 1192 Standard on RVs, use 1/4 cup bleach per 15 gal of water (50 ppm ratio). So for a 90 gal RV water tank, you would use 1 1/2 cups of bleach. Run the bleached water throughout the RV plumbing, let it stand for 4 hours, then thoroughly flush with fresh water. For a stronger dose (100 ppm), you would use 1/2 cup of bleach per 15 gal water. If you don't like using bleach, then you can sanitize your tank with Purogene On the other hand, if you want to sanitize the water, and not the water tank, then you're talking about adding drops of bleach. Here are the EPA's Recommendations. Always remember if you do not follow the NFPA 1192 standard to the letter you could very well be run in by the sanitizing police, that's if you don't die first.

RE: How many folks just want to gripe about EVs?

Here's a good place to start: Simple facts. https://cdn.motor1.com/images/custom/bev-us-comparison-prices-20210224.png Lynn Those simple facts were for 2021 models, which means the numbers are probably from 2 years ago. A nothing burger. Personally I take issue with tax credits for EV's, or anything else FWIW. If they're so great they can stand on their own merits, no incentives needed at someone else's expense. The government does not generate any money so the credit is payed for by other taxpayers.

RE: 7th Gen S650 2024 Mustang

U Can't go back. The new has little relation to the old other than name. Who needs 500+ horsepower to go 45 mph in town or 70 on open highway. U have to feed and insure those horses. What do they have to do with RVing. I don't know if they have anything to do with RVing but you have to feed and insure a motor home or tow vehicle. By your logic who needs a motorhome or TT when they can sleep in a tent?

RE: Rec Pro ???

Any furniture sold specifically for RVs is total garbage no matter who makes or sells it, especially so if its LCI or one of their brands such as Thomas Payne. Recpro makes nothing, they are a distributor and buy stuff in bulk from fine furniture makers such as HERE

RE: How many folks just want to gripe about EVs?

This thread should last an hour LOL. I wanna gripe about..... In addition to my last electric bill which almost doubled from the same period last year although I used less KWH. "Americans browsing the supermarket aisle will notice most food items are far more expensive than they were a year ago. Egg prices soared 39.8%, while flour got 23.3% more expensive. Milk rose 17% and the price of bread jumped 16.2%. Meat and poultry also grew costlier. Chicken prices jumped 16.6%, while meats rose 6.7% and pork increased 6.8%. Fruits and vegetables together are up 9.4%. Overall, grocery prices jumped 13.5% and restaurant menu prices increased 8%."

RE: RAM 1500 EcoDiesel Productions Ends in January

In Connecticut, the cost of diesel is running well over $1 more per gallon than regular gas. Whatever mpg gains you get are not enough to offset that. No one I know is even thinking of looking at a diesel pickup truck these days. You may not know anyone but I know plenty, myself included. The waiting list is long for any in a dealer allocation. If one is not spoken for (good luck finding one of those) hits the dealers lot, it's gone the same day, and usually with a big market adjustment tacked on over MSRP.

RE: current diesel fuel pricing

As far as heating oil is concerned, in 2020 residential use was about 3B gallons, about 1/4th of what it was in the late 70s What? 38 gallons? We used to go through @ 500+ gallons every winter and that was on the Eastern shore of MD, where winters are typically really mild.
