Hi guys. I am considering your advice regarding wiring. Trailer is grounded through hitch, load bars and plug and has worked well for 19 years. Still could be a ground issue. When magnets go out is it an all or nothing?

My trailer, listed below, has developed weak brakes. It will barely show when I depress the over ride on the Prodigy 2 brake controller which is set at 6.3. That seems to be as high as it goes. I tightened all four drum brakes via adjuster in back. Did not help. I repacked the bearings two years ago and the magnets had not yet worn to show the wear marks. Original shoes and drums. I have owned this rig for 10 years. Any guesses? I am perplexed. Magnets? shoes? controller? Any thoughts apreciated.

RE: Kayak hooked to ladder?

Kayak weight would not be anb issue. Wind resistance mayt be. I would put opening facing back and give it a try

RE: Storing with levelers down?

I am guessing you mean stabilizers? No need really. Can't hurt but not needed in my opinion.

Beginning research for a new tow vehicle. Our Kia Sedona has 125K on the odometer. Our tow capacity would preferably be around 5-6K. Seating for six or more. This would be a daily driver so fuel economy is important. Also nothing too big like a Saburban. Probley buy slightly used. Any thoughts? SUV or van. Not a truck.

We are beginning research on a new used tow vehicle. Our trusty van is on borrowed time. We would like to pull around 5-6 K. This would be our daily driver as well. We do foster care and need seating for 6 or more. We are thinking SUV or possibly a van. Around town mileage is somewhat important. Any suggestions?

RE: Battery Replacement Assistance

We run twin group 27 when dry camping. We run TV and video every night and furnace including all you mentioned. We are good for three nights max.

RE: Alone or in a group?

If I know the group that is great. If I do not I camp with just the family or solo. I have thin tolerance for loud drunk people late at night

RE: How to lose an awning

The guy may not have seen it from where you did. If it were me I would politely point it out to them. I can see a rig comming in at night and catching that corner.

RE: Cash Vs. Finance

Always amazes me how many people will finance an RV. Your reasoning is not worth the interest. If you really are sold on the idea of a loan you will pay. You are safe when going through a reputable dealer and having the purchase well documented.

RE: Best Fuel Preservative for Pure Gas ???

I use STA BIL in all my small engine units. Cheap insurance. I also date my gas cans. I was surprised to find fuel three years old.

I am legally blind. My family and I love to camp. I got this Golden Access pass from the USFS quite a few years ago. I do not see an expiration date on this? Does it expire? I have used this pass to get half off camp sites. Due to Columbia Gorge fire two years ago I have not used it. Is it still good?

RE: Camper Roof coating on top of old Coating?

Take off as much of the old as you can. Anything you put down will only adhere as well as the surface it bonds to. I strongly suggest pressurizing the interior and soaping up the outside to find all the leaks. Sometimes water enters through the back side of a running light. You will be surprised.

RE: How much water to ad to black tank when starting out.?

In my 17 years with this trailer I have never even considered adding water. My bathroom sink does empty into black however. I do use an internal on board sprinkler type sprayer when I dump where available. Maybe that helps?

RE: Ceramic Heater Safety

Another option is the oil filled radiator type that are electric. Mine has a built in timer and is very adjustable. We leave it on low while the rig is not being used. Timer set for evenings only when it might dip below freezing.
