RE: Comical EV article

While I am not anti EV, people (greenies & govt.) need to understand they are not for everyone and work in every situation. I read a similar story where the writer traveled from New Orleans to Chicago. They spent more time charging than they did sleeping.

RE: Want a new truck?

Stopped in the local friendly Ford dealer this morning, they had a 22 F 250 loaded up XLT CC, 6 1/2' bed,7.3 gas up on the ramps near the highway. Could of drove it home for $8K over sticker lol. The sales manager told me Ford has stopped building Super Dutys, if you order today the earliest one can expect it is May 2023......maybe, and said expect msrp to go up across the board $4K by then. They had a shiny silver F-150 lightning waiting to be delivered, it went for $25K above sticker. They just furloughed 6 sales people. People are out of their minds. Wow sign me up, "only" $8K? The local Ford dealer is asking $ 10K, over MSRP, with one truck $15K over. I have a real issue with these dealers gouging people, as some buyers don't have a choice, perhaps their existing vehicle was totaled or stolen. But then if some idiot wants to be the first to have a new Lighting and is willing to pay than much, it makes it easier for me to buy less than MSRP.

RE: Traveling via B&B/hotel vs RV

We recently had to attend an event where we had to stay in a hotel. While the room was nice, we found having to eat at a restaurant to be expensive and a hassle. I found unhooking and setting up was less work than schlepping baggage up to and down from the room. As far as cost, food would be a big cost savings for us since we rarely eat out when we have our RV. Higher lodging cost is offset by additional fuel cost. Biggest issue was we also missed our own bed, pillows and bath. While I understand RV travel brings its own challenges for us I don't see a move to hotel /B&B for us.

RE: Auxiliary Tank Combo

I also went with the RDS, mainly because I wanted a low profile tool box - fuel tank to fit under my tonneau cover. Holds about 40 Ga.

RE: Goodbye China Bombs, Hello Made In The USA

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Chinese tires. The one "failure" I had since I switched to Goodyears was due to a valve stem popping out. Lesson learned, I replaced all valve stems with metal screw in type. Zero issues since then.

RE: Where have all the members gone on this forum?

I think most of the younger set have moved to FB because they are there anyway. Also as been mentioned the lack of detail and quick answers suit their short attention spans. Even if the answer is wrong or more info follows. One of many reasons I find FB a waste of time as you can't actually "follow" a thread to see what the final outcome was.

RE: Ford 350 mile per gallon

My '17 F250 6.7 averaged 9 MPG over 8K miles towing 67 MPH. 14 MPG With a tailwind, 7 MPG With a big tailwind. My '20 F350 6.7 Delivered 10.5 over the same route.
