RE: NM RV PARKS EFFECTIVE 4/6/20

Just an honest question - no insult or anything like that intended. Does anyone have an estimate on how many 'full timers' do so out of necessity - not because they love the lifestyle? I'm certain there are some who do so because it may be more cost effective. Just asking out of curiosity. You are asking about two completely different animals The ones that do so out of necessity are not considered full time rv’rs, at least in my book. They are considered full time residents at trailer parks Full time traveling is not an inexpensive endeavor, and those are the ones that do it because they love the lifestyle

RE: Ramco Mirror - unable to remove

I have NEVER had a mirror gaul(freeze) to the mount. I will bet the OP has NOT loosened the allen wrench adjustment screws on the side of the pivot. THOSE will not allow the mirror to release when the bolt is removed. Doug Sorry Doug, not a Velvac mirror, so there isn’t any. The OP thanks you for your fine advice? And what’s with the snarky Dennis? I always say, this is the last post on this forum... well now it is. Thanks all for the helpful advice, and thanks again for reiterating the reason this forum is dying and people are leaving in droves Best of luck to you all and safe travels,

Ramco Mirror - unable to remove

Good day all, Need to remove my drivers side Ramco mirror in order to repair the mounting. I have removed the bolt on the bottom under the cover and the mirror wont budge. I contacted Ramco and they said soak it with WD 40 and hit it with a rubber hammer in several places below the first knuckle. I have been doing this twice a day for 3 days. Still no movement Any other ideas?

RE: Best Water Pump

Hello Thanks to everyone. Yes, your water pump is original to the coach, and we dry camp a lot. What we have is an ancient Shurflo, and yes, that’s how I found out we had a minor leak, because of the noise No water pump will be totally quiet, which is fine, and not expected. Just looking for the best gpm, and psi. The quiet, I’m sure with newer technology, anything will be better than what we have Was just looking for models and brands. Thinking the new Shurflo 3.5gpm?

RE: Blue Ox Tow Bar

We have always used Roadmaster. Their products and support are second to none. We are beyond happy with the Roadmaster base plate on our 2019 Ranger. Fits perfectly, and can barely see it with the bar off. Sorry that happened to you. Sounds like Blue Ox dropped the ball on this one. If theirs isn’t perfectly ready for market, they shouldn’t have released it

RE: Spartan service Az/Nv

Thanks Bill. Actually called them early this morning before I posted. Waiting for them to get back to us with a price. Already know what parts we need, and how much they are directly from Spartan. Problem we’re having is the shop we usually go to in the Phoenix area quoted us 10 hrs more labor than Spartan says ( 6 ) . The man we talked to in Redlands nailed the labor hours off the bat, so that’s a good sign. Will post when he gets back to us. Was hoping for a place in Arizona or Nevada. We try to stay away from Cali whenever possible Thank you again

Spartan service Az/Nv

Need upper and lower ball joints replaced on our Spartan chassis. Anyone have it done anywhere in Arizona or Nevada? If so, where, when, and how much? Willing to go to Texas, New Mexico, or as a last resort Cali. Thanks in advance

No Restrictions Florida Keys

If you had 2 weeks to spend in the Florida Keys, in a 43’ DP and you could stay anywhere, where would you stay, and what time of year? Considerations... Have kayaks, and hubby is a bug magnet. Don’t need or want a pool, nor activities, and prefer minimal, if no children around. Just want spectacular ocean views, peace and quiet, cocktail in hand, and toes in the sand. Thanks!

RE: Traveling in Oregon

Just saw this notice at a 55 plus park. 3rd one we’ve seen this Summer Seems to be a common theme in Senior Communities https://i.imgur.com/4RpS6evl.jpg

RE: Traveling in Oregon

it is against the law to consume in public in both Oregon, and Washington. I think your biggest worry would be someone asking you for some of your Doritos. What is it you are concerned about? Most people that indulge in these States are over 65. Surprise! It’s not like it’s Woodstock and everyone is standing around smoking pot singing kubaya and chanting If you want to worry about something, worry about impact wrenches, pooping, barking dogs, screaming kids, and not being able to find a place to park. As I indicated in my post, a co-worker was in CO and in a downtown area, the second hand smoke was heavy. That's what I want to avoid. The majority of responses here confirmed that we don't have to worry. I’m pretty sure your co- worker was exaggerating. It is illegal to consume in public in any State where it is legal, so think that was a made up story. Campfires create 50x the stink and smoke

RE: Dometic - Up or Down

My experience is Dometic fridges do better at 7-8, instead of max. Try going down a bump with the outside setting, wait 24 hours, then readjust as needed with the thermostat inside Yes, it should maintain temp on electric.
