RE: Quick reply please.

I have never driven that route But from the description given I would avoid that pass with the RV, and take the route hubby wants to go

RE: Any old Dodge mechanics online here

I thank you Mr Wizard for the clarification. That is basically what I thought it was but I would have thought that a 1 ton van would have been build on a one ton truck frame. Seems a bit illogical to have the thing on a uni-body thing. Especially if they are being modified to that extent. . Very true, but this was not mfg and sold as a complete truck Parts stores looking for one ton that old won't be thinking of something like an RV, when you tell them it's a Dodge sportsman And Dodge sportsman Van won't list parts that fit your vehicle Although the front wheels might be the same parts, the suspension and brakes must be heavier for the increased weight of the RV

RE: Any old Dodge mechanics online here

Yes that is a dually, Regarding chassis running gear, Always go by the "incomplete vehicle" Chassis year on the vin plate Not the RV model year, they are often different , the coach builders order incomplete vehicles aka bare chassis to build the RV on, When looking for parts you want parts for 197x dodge chassis with (chassis VIN xxxxx) You can find a site on line. That will show you how to.decode the chassis vin# for specific details

RE: Any old Dodge mechanics online here

Yes that is a dually, And that is a Class C RV Motorhome,if the front rims are not the same as the rear rims, what you want to do, cannot be done, the issue was confused when you called the RV a one ton truck It is a Class C RV, on a 1978 Dodge chassis Regarding chassis running gear, Always go by the Chassis year on the vin plate Not the RV model year, they are often different , the coach builders order incomplete vehicles aka bare chassis to build the RV on,

RE: AGM Mystery Capacity Crash Below 75% SOC UPDATE

I think I would use the inverter method, I would go by watts not amps, the inverter will be better at maintain a constant power use, volts go down amps go up, still the same about of power being used

RE: 1998 8.3 diesel water temp

I had something similar in symptoms in 2012 But much worse results (cumins 6tb 5.6L ) The plastic expansion tank cracked and leaked It was over heating from coolant loss, The temp would go up, then coolant system pressure would release at the cap, temp would drop, then immediately start climbing I ended up broke down, was towed too Flagstaff, and spent thousands of $$ in engine repairs, plus motel expenses for a ten day stay Be careful, check everything

RE: Any old Dodge mechanics online here

Old timer Dave Do you mean Dually tires ( I think you do ) on the rear Or Dual = two rear axles A third rear axle is called a tandem axle My first motorhome was on a 72 Dodge chassis, 17" tires on all 6 wheels, front and back where the same wheel and tire, Not positive but it might of had a Bendix design braking,, drums, shoes, and brake cylinders I think it was a D300 chassis Do your rear brakes have one brake cylinder at top of mounting plate Or Two cylinders , one at bottom and one at top For each of the rear drums

RE: AGM Mystery Capacity Crash Below 75% SOC UPDATE

I installed AGM telcom/server batteries in the previous MH a DP, Capable of 500w per cell AKA 3000 watts per battery until discharged, about 10 minutes, but would be totally discharged, but this is Tested what it could stand spec for when new, Not recommend design use And was very happy even after several years of use But I did not do back to back electric kettle water boiling Or run the A/C I think your use pattern, has created a physical/ molecular barrier in the plates , that ca├▒not carry/pass the amount of current you want to use Just like any other lead battery, you need enough Total capacity, that max power use does not exceed designed power use per cell If you want long life trouble free use If not enough storage space for that Then you have to expect, replacement when performance drops below need

RE: Champion 2k in storage for three years. Advice starting it?

the Champion 2000 is an 'inverter' type generator you cant 'FLASH' it, because the inverter section produces the 120v and is separate from the high voltage DC alternator, and that is different than the AC voltage generator head in an Onan or other synchronous generator, which connects directly to the output

RE: 12 volt water pump runs in bursts on hot side only

Timbtb just how many "quarts" of water are in the piping of that tankless Yes there is water in there, not 10 gallons, but there is water try connecting an open hose to the output side of the water heater a weak pump would trickle water at a slow rate and NOT cycle on off, because it would not build enough pressure for the pressure switch to open and shut off the pump not a high enough flow rate for the the tankless to fire up There IS a Restriction/Blockage someplace could even be mineral deposits inside the tankless
MrWizard 09/16/19 09:49pm Tech Issues
RE: 12 volt water pump runs in bursts on hot side only

Sounds like a blockage somewhere For a test drain the water heater Open a hot water tap and turn on water pump If it does the same thing blockage is on the input side to heater Possibly a strainer ? If the it happens after the tankless fills up Blockage is on the output side of heater going to RV water system I know that doesn't sound right It just might be that you need to replace the water pump Could be flow has decreased thru/from the pump
