Still running the factory brakes.
New fuel pump at 180,000.
Miscellaneous items and regular maintenance.
Doesn't use a drop of oil between oil changes
and that's carrying the 4000 lb camper fulltime.
It sure has been and still is a great truck.
I had an 11.5 Lance back in the late 80's and early 90's.

RE: Overloaded or wrong truck?

I had a 11.5 Lance that most likely was way over weight on both of these trucks and never had an issue. Camper was way over 4K.

RE: Overloaded or wrong truck?

Ram doesn’t make a DRW short bed in a crew cab.
actualy the do, My niebour has one. I didn't think they did either. I am not sure if it was a custom order or what, it was his brothers that came with the new artic fox camper when he passed. I was interested in buying the camper but when I went to look at it I found ou it was a short box model.
Steve
Maga cab, not a Crew Cab. Look behind the rear door windows for an extra 6+ inches of body.

RE: Overloaded or wrong truck?

Looks like there's a whole lot of truck camper hanging off the end of the truck. Maybe a short bed truck, and a long bed camper with 3 slides? Baja California, so add in some rough roads.
Sure looks like there’s a lot of panel in front of the rear wheels for a SB ??
At least the way I see it, it looks like a long bed
I believe the Maga cab dually is the only short bed model available.

RE: Ford recall issues

I wonder if some of these recalls are just OTA or over the air recalls though.
Very few manufacturers have OTA capability.
My 2021 F-150 regularly gets OTA updates. They recommend it be linked to home WiFi for quicker downloads. I have it set for 2AM 7 days a week to check for updates. If it is gone some morning I will know the girlie truck down the street slipped in an invite.

What recalls do you have? I haven't heard anything about my 2021 F150 2.7
Tail gate opening on it's own, I have not experienced this yet and the wiper motor. Maybe another I forget! I did get the insulation one completed.

RE: Dealers lots are filling up

I got an education in electronics in the USCG 1965-69. It served me well in all my working years. Retired at 62 as a senior data network design engineer at BofA. I had over 150 weeks, five days a week, 8 hours a day of technical training that only cost was my comment to the USCG, NCR, Department store with NCR POS registers, and the Bank.

RE: New B & W WD trailer hitch

I must be missing something. I don't see anything about that hitch that would make me want to change from standard torsion bars. I have been hooking up torsion bars for 50 years and haven't had much trouble out of them.
No hydraulic pump or seal leaks???? No bleed down????

RE: All 2024 GM HDS get the 10 speed Allison.

I didn't go any further than the video with the GM engineer.
So you drank the coolaid, and did not get to the part about first guy outside the GM/Allison bubble to tear down the new transmission. It is called cherry picking details.

RE: All 2024 GM HDS get the 10 speed Allison.

Ford and GM co-developed the 10 speed transmissions that are used in half ton and car applications. The 10 speed HD transmissions were not co-developed.
Something more to read.

RE: All 2024 GM HDS get the 10 speed Allison.

So Allison designed the transmission and GM produces it. So what's the problem?
Maybe a little research is in order? I thought a Ford guy would have known this! Ford SDs are using the same Allison! :B

RE: All 2024 GM HDS get the 10 speed Allison.

the tranny is of course an ALLISON 10 speed.
Are you sure? You might just have Allison emblems stuck on the hood or fender. It might be a 10L90E or even a Powerglide with 8 more gears stuffed in the housing somehow.
Well it worked! The deal GM made to brand their 10 speed transmission as an Allison is fooling many, who now think they have a real Allison transmission.

RE: 2023 Ram Reveal

If your 15 Cummins/RAM and Ford were placed side by side, cost and fuel economy were not in the equation what one would you take home?
Well I no longer "need" a HD truck. I do miss some of the RAM Laramie features that are not on my XLT F150 like heat steering wheel and power folding mirrors.
I like the F150's stop and go adaptive cruise control and the 12" display in the center stack that looks right and not like it was glued on.
24 MPG on the highway bobtail is nice. Around town the mileage is 17-19 where the RAM was 15-17.
If DW had not gotten sick and I had known how quickly she was going to step off the planet, I would have keep the RAM.

RE: 2023 Ram Reveal

Pour little me, I sit here driving a FORD F150 with a tiny little 2.7L twin turbo V6 with a smile on my face. Who would have guessed, after a 1993 RAM/Cummins, a 2001.5 RAM/Cummins and a 2015 RAM/Cummins spanning 27 years. And 19 years with twin Cummins in the last boat. :) :)
Hey Chris, I'm not feeling bad for you!! My hunting buddy has the same truck as yours, and it is a great truck! That puny little 2.7 can kick some V8 a$$, for sure!:C
Jerry
It can hardly get out of it's own way!

If there is not diesel for freight trucks, then the ecomomy will crash. And of course that is the plan by some.
