RE: Tips on how to hook up at an extreme angle?

I have a Demco but there is no locking plate, it has the silver guide rails on the hitch. I have pulled them off or backed them all the way off....was pretty easy.....hooked up and then pulled out. If I had them off. I stopped, put them on and rehitched. Only took a few minutes. Without the rails in place, the hitch still works, it just does not "autoslide". If I had the rails backed off, I just slid them over once the trailer was straight and then tightened them.
My hitch is a few years old now so the design might be a bit different from the new ones.
Mine is the same as this ^^. I would do exactly the same given the circumstances. Just a few bolts to loosen off/remove and the hitch acts like a regular hitch and doesn't slide.
The only alternative to this is to have a friendly neighbor hitch up to your trailer and pull to a spot where you can hitch up straight.

RE: Changing AV programs or???

I use the built in Windows Defender and have for years. It has improved steadily, and I have always hated the 'bloatware' and ensuing spam I got from McAfee and Norton. First thing I do with a new computer is remove McAfee!

RE: Gulf State Park

Anybody know what Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores Alabama is like? They don't seem to post any pictures of their campsites on their reservation system. Seems to be a rather large campground. Is it close to the beach? Is it still reality warm there in November?
"The average temperature in Gulf Shores in November for a typical day ranges from a high of 70°F (21°C) to a low of 59°F (15°C). Some would describe it as mildly cool with a gentle breeze."
I've stayed there in November and it was pretty much as the quote above says. I have a booking for next May - just managed to find it. The place is booked solid as soon as sites become available. One of the hardest places to get into but, IMHO, one of the best. Good luck! :)

RE: Niagara

We stayed at the KOA on the Canadian side a year ago this weekend. It was jam packed and trailers were very close together. Fortunately we only stayed one night there, as we wanted to see the Falls and then leave the following morning. We do overnight stops often in KOAs and, for us, this was the worst experience ever.

RE: What happened?

I clicked on the backup site link and got the error message. However, it says hosted by 000webhost.com. Now, I had my personal website on that host and it recently was closed down after it was taken over by another company. No communication, just shut down. Lucky I had a copy of my website backed up!
The main site has no interactive functionality, so it may be going down as well. Who knows?!

RE: Florida State Park Reservation window changes

Snowbirds don’t stay at Fla. state parks, the max length of stay is 14 days. Nothing wrong with giving priority to the people that pay your salary and benefits.
Oh, but they do!
We camp in a FL State Park at least once a month and there are always snowbirds in many sites. Most say they book for 14 days and then move on to another SP. Many don't mind moving every 2 weeks.
Arrived home today from St George Island State Park and at least 50% of plates were from northern states.

RE: New rails installed prices

That seems very expensive.
Look here:
E-Trailer Reese Rails
On Edit: Although, that is not for the Chevy it probably gives a good idea of possible price range.

RE: Tires

I used to Michelin LTX A/S on my 2004 Ram 2500. Never had an issue for 17 years in Colorado snow, and only on my 3rd set when I sold the truck in 2021.
When I replace the crappy tires on my 'new' 2019 RAM I will try to find these Michelins again!
EDIT: Looks like only the Defenders are available now - look pretty much the same so I would go with those.

RE: 1st night camping in our yard, 2023.01.24

I have a 30 gal tank and like to get it almost full with the flushing spray in order to get a good wash out. I use the meter to tell me when I have 25 gals .why? You going to store drinking water in it next trip? It’s a black tank, it doesn’t need to be squeaky clean - and it’s a waste of water.
I like it that way. It makes the tank sensors work every time. That alone is good for me. We can agree to differ.......

RE: 1st night camping in our yard, 2023.01.24

I use a small in-line water meter on the inlet to my black tank flush. I have a 30 gal tank and like to get it almost full with the flushing spray in order to get a good wash out. I use the meter to tell me when I have 25 gals in the tank.
One of a great many tips I got from watching the wonderful 'Changing Lanes' channel on YouTube.

RE: Windows 11 Experts?

45 years computing here. Recently bought a new Dell Win 11 desktop. 500Gb SSD plus 2Tb factory installed SATA drive. Factory installed and labeled them as C: and H: drives. Now, if I open a file's properties on the C drive, and then select the 'more properties' line at the bottom, I get a 'send to' option among the next set of options. When I select that the H: drive comes up as an available option.
This doesn't answer the OPs question other than to say it should work. Must be an obscure setting somewhere that I, for one, have never come across!

RE: Awning arm does not release.

I had a similar problem with my last trailer. In order to release the offending arm I would detach it at the bottom and lift it up a bit. That released the top and I then reattached the bottom and all was well. Did that every trip for about 11 years!

RE: Mopkka tank Sensors

I've been using them since they first came out.
Don't waste the money buying the tank sensor and monitor kit. Just buy the sensor kit and then use the bluetooth smart phone app. It's way more detailed on tank level.
Ditto!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning FOOFs
My Heart Cath went well. I see my Cardiologist on the 23rd. Blockage was not severe enough to require stents so hopefully just medication for the future.
Thanks for your prayers.

Saw my cardiologist today. CT angiogram showed some blockage. I will have a heart catheter done on Thursday and possibly have some stints put in.

Best of luck Dan. Hope all proceeds well.
