RE: Arctic Fox air conditioning question

Most of AC have inner air filter, what most of the time is washable foam. I also am big fan of Formula 303 for protecting plastic and fiberglass parts, so spray top cover whenever I go there. Protectant 303 is great for UV protection and won't wash off in the first rain like Armorall will. 303 was recommended for my canoe also.

RE: Newbie

Many times the gray tank smells nastier than the black due to grease, soap scum, food/drink, etc. Clean it by filling it up with water and Dawn dish soap and drive around so it can slosh and clean the sidewalls, then drain and rinse again.

RE: Shock Absorbers

I installed Bilstein 4600's over the winter, very much improved ride and control over the stock shocks. I wish I would have upgraded earlier.

RE: Hooks on my counters

That is weird after looking at your pictures. Is the counter top lighter in color (like it looks in the pics) between the wall and the hooks like something may have been held in place like a long spice rack? The more I look, the more that I'd say just unscrew them and fill the holes with plastic filler and call it a day.

RE: Hooks on my counters

Can we see a pic of how they are arranged/placed please?

RE: Northern Lite 10-2 maiden voyage

The short run time out of the propane tank maybe because the tanks weren’t properly purged of air. My thought as well. I live in Alaska and use my furnace almost every night while camping, refer on propane, and water heater only on as necessary and go most of the summer on one 20lb tank.

RE: F350 bed supports

Find a place that installs/sales utility truck beds. They'll have plenty of OEM beds laying around. Another reason to buy white pickups, tons of excess OEM beds at the up fitters.

RE: Air bag question and suspension in general I guess

Looking more into the spring route. Hellwig has a 2500 and a 3500 overload spring pack. They recommended the 3500 version since the camper plus projected weight gets us close to 3000 lbs. Not sure if that is the right way to look at it, but I have no reason to doubt their recommendation. Those, plus a sway bar seems to be a pretty good setup ata cost effective price. Benefit to adding the Torklift stable load too? Even though I love my StableLoads, you should not need them if you add springs. All the StableLoads do is add the overload spring right away, so you shouldn't need that.

RE: Border closure extended

The linked article suggests on May 19 it was extended to June 21. Where is the July 31 part? I don't see it. That is correct, the Canadian Govt will readdress on 21 June, the US Govt will on 22 June (why the day apart I'll never know). I'm stuck up here in Alaska and have been keeping an eye on the reopening date to get into Canada and then back into the US.

RE: Tie-down systems performance/safety vs cost

I have a similar truck as the OP, a 2012 GMC 2500 4x4 6.5' box. I've been using HappiJac tie down system for 8 years now. Don't believe the naysayers, the HappiJac system is frame mounted through the box up front and the rear bumper anchors also have a bolted on support from the frame. There is also a convenient load centering bar with centering bumpers to help keep your camper centered while loading and while hauling your camper. You can use the huge savings on Qwik Load or Fast Gun tie downs if you want. The Torklift front anchor points will block your fuel door and require you to loosen the front tie down every time you fuel up.

RE: Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Alarms

I hear you, I replaced both of mine last spring with direct 12v replacement units that pretty much matched the factory detectors.

RE: Bed Mat

Looks good to me too. I just use a basic rectangle shaped rubber mat, it still looks and works like new on its 8 summer season.

RE: New Shock Time

I changed out my OEM shocks at 35,000 miles for Bilstein 4600's, WOW what an improvement. Just like good tires, you'll instantly feel the difference. Much less sway and porpoise effect while on the road. Like everything in life, there is no "best" only what works the best for you.

RE: NorCold Fridge - How Sensitive to Being Unlevel?

The best way I have found to stay level is to park level. I use a leveling app on my phone and set it on the console in the truck. Works like a champ. Exactly what I do, then it's much easier to fine tune with leveling blocks if needed.

RE: What TC truly sleeps 4 adults ?

I know this is a non-slide model, but Wolf Creek 850's have a 79" long dinette bed. I'm 6'3" 250 and have plenty of extra room. It wouldn't be as wide as others, but the length is there! https://i.imgur.com/8TI6sozl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/lBjvclHl.jpg

RE: What's your favorite camp chair?

These have a 3 yr warranty when purchased from their online store and no tax, no shipping. The reviews are stellar especially regarding comfort. Some of the ones others mentioned seem to have nagging quality issues which was a no go for me. We read many reviews and looked at other camping websites and took a shot at them. We were impressed the moment we sat in one, I'm a big guy and the chair just fit great, no slouching, no digging into our legs, firm support, nice arm rests, and quality built. The angle on your back is the best part when compared to any other camp chair!
