RE: Potential purchase of MH

This is a pretty typical scam. Please do not fall for it. The money will be held where and by whom? Why would someone who could sell their RV locally risk having to pay shipping in both directions when you don't like it? In one case, the RV listed was that of a friend of ours. We talked to them and they were no selling. Someone had just taken some pictures from Facebook. This is 100% a scam. Run! You are guaranteed to lose whatever money you send.

RE: class A safety

BMW, not sure why you are not interested in listening to the good advice given. Just because you want someone to condem Ford foe something that's not their fault does not make your assumptions correct. If you like what you have you should get a proper alignment. If you are uncomfortable with the coach you now own you should get rid of it.

RE: Verizon or T-Mobile

That the Mobley. I use the same service in a Netgear router.

Plan 2 days in Cody if you really want to experience the museum has to offer.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

I thought this used to be an open forum where folks were allowed to post comments and opinions. Apparently, some have chosen to moderate others differing opinions. I have been following this thread for years and always like to see new updates. In this case, it took 3 days to make 7 posts about the same thing. I was disappointed to find there were no new updates despite the "new post" icon.

Welcome back! Do you think it's a bit much to make 7 posts to explain that you used a razor knife to cut some foam?

RE: New here! 1986 Holiday Rambler Alternator

If you will be living in the RV, the necessary power will not be coming from your engine alternator. The alternator may help keep the batteries charged while driving but once you stop, NADA! You will need a good battery charger, either a converter or an inverter charger larger enough to keep your house batteries charged. It may also be setup to keep your engine starting batteries charged as well (or not).

RE: Dish TV

You cannot use a splitter but you should be able to run 2 separate coax cables from the antenna to the receivers. The above question about the dish you are using means what kind of antenna. Domes are a bit of a problem with 2 receivers but still doable. A full sized home style antenna works on the road exactly as well as it does at home.

RE: How does 50 amp work?

Why doesn't someone simply state that 50 amp service allows 50 amps of usage on 2 separate legs of the service (100 amps) vs. 30 amp service that allows for a total of 30 amp service to the entire coach. OK, I know it was posted but this is about as simple as it gets. 2 - 50 amp legs vs. 1 30 amp for everything.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

This IS NOT an Aqua Hot. The bus uses a Webasto system (50,000 BTU) for baseboard heat. It keeps us toasty warm in Temps well below zero. We have NO 120V heat other than the heat pumps and heat straps in the roof A/C units. Most Prevosts have basement air units called Cruiseairs and not roof mounted units. The newer ones are all going to roof air due to the PIA issues of the Cruiseairs. The bus is very air tight and we just use a couple portable heaters for most of the Winter. When it gets cold enough to be concerned about the bays getting to cold we turn on the diesel heat. Since we carry 160 gallons of fuel it will keep us warm for a Very long time.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

No, Doug is not correct. Ours uses a Webasto heater and there is no electric option. If you turn it on in any form you will be burning diesel. For hot water there are 2 - 10 gallon water heater each with their own electric element so we have nearly continuous hot water whenever we are plugged in. When the Webasto is running it also heats the water (and the engine and the basement and the interior).

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

I have the 5 button. I have 2 different units that have heat pumps and 1 unit that has a heat strip (wish I had thought it out as I would now have 2 with heats strips as the heat pumps appears to be just somewhat above useless!). We full time so cold is a normal part of our life and that means electric heaters and Webasto diesel heat is about all that works much of the Winter. We replaced the existing old unit with an exact replacement new unit so the installer swapped the old control board with the new control board so it would still work with the old style thermostat. Yes this is all on our 1998 Country Coach Prevost.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

New, Dometic. Older 3 zone thermostat. Had to replace New style control board with old style from previous unit.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

That makes sense but it's freezing in the coach by the time the heat kicks in again. You would think the fan should quit running.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

I had to replace my current Dometic A/C heat pump last Summer. Had never use the heat output option until this fall. As mentioned, it needed to be around 40+ degrees to do anything. What's weird is that it blows nice and warm for awhile and then when it reaches the right temp if does not shut off but rather blows cold air for a while and finally shuts down. Then, just a minute or so later it starts back up and blows warm again.....repeat over and over.

RE: Router for Low Cell Signal Rural Mountainous Areas

Interesting but hard to understand. This thread has drifted so far as to be worthless to the OP.

RE: Router for Low Cell Signal Rural Mountainous Areas

Starlink Really read up on this system. Neighbor just did it and cost is very high. Dead spots are dead spots. He did not get it up and running before his 30 days ran out so he is stuck with a expensive system and is not happy but if he turns it off as in not needed, not the part of their plan where you still pay $20 a month, you have to purchase a new unit. So as stated really READ their contract. Might add third party equipment read on that also. Is he trying to move a home unit? If so, that could be the problem. The RV set costs more but can be pit on pause at no cost when you don't need the service. It's now $135/month but only for the months you need.
