RE: Using Dryer's NEMA 14-30 outlet for RV shore power

sounds like you are on the right track, just remember that you will need to be able to turn the power off to connect and disconnect....sounds like the outlet will be below the that should make it easy. here is one of the three 50 amp outlets I have installed at my property :)

RE: Using Dryer's NEMA 14-30 outlet for RV shore power

With that many normal sized breakers, it may be less expensive to tandem four of them into 2 slots and then install a standard 50 double pole breaker. Have you pulled a breaker to see if they will support tandems? yep...that was my first thought too..double 15 or 20 amp as applicable.

RE: Using Dryer's NEMA 14-30 outlet for RV shore power

As I said in post #2 do it right and add the circuit. The double 240 or if you have some single 120 CBs you can get those in double to make space for another standard 240 breaker. :)

RE: Goosebox vs. fifthwheel

the only negatives I have heard with the Reese Goosebox is... having to add air to the airbag often, you have to raise the trailer higher when connecting/disconnecting to clear the ball and a litter harder to line up when hitching. If your truck has the optional air on the can use that to lower the truck to make hitching easier. I'm sure there is more....just wait for it :W

RE: Parking Light with Jumper

The trailer charge circuit is not hooked to battery or blown fuse in charge circuit line on trailer.

RE: Bearings and bad decisions......

one thing to consider...when I put my new disc hubs on...I bought American Made Timken bearings....found them on Amazon. I've seen the made in China bearing have issues in the past for no apparent reason

RE: Bearings and bad decisions......

exactly what I was thinking ^^^^ hub was so hot it popped the cap off. Also, lots of dust/sand getting in when driving like that.

RE: 5th wheel lifting bracket

RE: Rails vs pucks vs gooseneck mount

I sold my patriot that I had for my Ford and got the puck version for my RAM when I changed trucks. Stronger hitch and the pucks have no slop like you can have with rails. Can't go wrong either way. But, it's nice having a factory ready option including 7 way in the bed.
