RE: Almost disaster

So sad on the quality of today's workmanship. Glad you were able to catch the bad error.
I had a new Chev 2500 pickup and took it to a local dealer (where I purchased the truck) to have an oil change. I waited for it. About an hour after I got home I noticed oil on the concrete driveway. Took it back and it turned out the mechanic had filled it twice with oil. I was not happy. Fortunately nothing bad happened from it.
Pays to check behind them.

RE: Bad Experience at Little Dealer Service Department

I worked in the office for 5 plus years in a small RV dealership. Talking to the owner or General Manager should bring the results you want.

RE: Help with Identification - OLD/Vintage pop up

Sometimes the older units had them stamped into the hitchwork.

RE: Can I lay my surge protector on the ground?

I have had to lay it on the ground if the receptacle was a "low" one. I would put a small board under the surge protector. Don't know how much good it did, but it made me feel better.

I towed a Fiat 500, manual transmission. Great little fun car. I seem to remember it came in under 2500.

RE: Confused about GS Roadside assistance membership

GS ERS did not pay for my tire when I had to have a new one on my fifth-wheel. I had to pay upfront for a tire and GS supplier delivered the tire along with providing the service of putting it on the fifth-wheel. I did not have their Tire plan/road hazard. Only the ERS. Also, on a motorhome, I had to have a new tire and the same thing happened. I paid up front, GS supplier brought the tire, mounted it on the wheel and installed it on the motorhome. Again, the labor was free, I paid for the tire.

RE: Good Sam or KOA

I have both KOA and Good Sam. If I was only to get one, I would probably choose KOA. You earn points with them and get $$ off the campground fee with different amounts of points. When on the road, I usually get water and 30 amp elec and use the dump station (saving a full hook-up price) if they have that. I really prefer Passport America and can usually live with any restrictions.

RE: leveling blocks

When I used them under the leveling jacks, I would bring the jacks down to about 4" off ground, get out, put the blocks under each jack and then finish putting the jacks down on them. I also used the lynx blocks under a "low" side.. if doing rear, both tires one side and the front tire. I carried 12 of them.

RE: Florida - Lakeland

I was in Lakeland today, US98 north of I-4.. 5001 vehicles on the road (I was the 001.) Toll road is probably a good idea. Still going to be lots of traffic before you get to the toll road, tho.
