RE: Attempted truck theft - I hate thieves

Sorry to hear this Bob. This city seems to be becoming a cesspool. These people need to be exterminated.

RE: Stalls While Driving

91 E-350 would have port type injection system that ran 30-45 psi fuel pressure. 99.9% chance it is a weak fuel pump causing your issue. Very common on those, especially in hot weather. Replace your fuel pump and the inline filter too. I'm sure it will solve your problem.

RE: Selling 2018 F150 to upgrade to 2022 F150 - worth it or not?

What part of "money is tight" do you "Pay off the $7K" types not understand? It's pretty much assured the OP does NOT have $7K laying around to pay off the truck, otherwise money would not be tight. I must have missed the part where he was waiting around to have it repossessed. I don't think anybody was telling him to pay it off today. Continue making the payments until it is paid off.

RE: Selling 2018 F150 to upgrade to 2022 F150 - worth it or not?

Keep your current truck if there is nothing wrong with it and get it paid off. I am much happier with no payments. My 2011 still works perfectly and I would not replace it with one of these new ones for anything.

RE: Low Battery Voltage

Does your fridge have a high humidity switch? If so, make sure it is not left on. It can draw the battery down.

RE: Cedar Creek rear cap cracks

Now that you are an expert on how to do the job correctly, and exactly how long it should last, why not just do the repair yourself?

RE: Fuse location on engine a/c compressor

I would check to make sure it is not low on refrigerant. Most common cause.

RE: Travel Trailer Towing Recommendations

The Transit is now available with all-wheel drive if traction is an issue. That Wagoneer looks like it may be a good choice too

RE: No headlights problem please help

Check for power at your high beam switch with the headlamps on. Should have 12 volts going in and it'll have 12 volts coming back out on either the high beam circuit or the low beam circuit. Also check the connector down there for corrosion and wires broken off

RE: Just give me the bad news.

Sorry for your loss. The electrical damage to the truck may only be to one connector, it may not be as serious as you think. a lot of times just the offending connector can be replaced by cutting the connector from the harness and splicing in a new pigtail. Hope you are able to fix it up again.

RE: receptacles not working

Yup, sounds like you have a GFCI that needs to be reset

RE: Water damage self repair?

It is totally do-able. I have done the same to my trailer. Just remember that water damage is like an iceberg. It is going to be much more extensive than you originally thought. The walls were built on top of the floor, and the framing is likely to be rotten and need replacing too. Will probably turn into a bigger job than you first thought.

RE: 1989 Ford 460 E 350 not running, need help

I would investigate the catalytic converter further. It sounds similar to an issue I had with my truck. It ran fine with good power most of the time, and intermittently the power would drop right down. It turns out that one of the catalyst "pucks" in the converter had broken in half, and the halves would rattle around in there until one of them became lodged sideways in the outlet of the converter, causing a severe restriction. It would break itself free after a bit, and power would be restored. Not sure you would be able to locate this blockage with a pressure test as it is intermittent. I cut my converter in half and knocked the guts out and welded it back up. Been fine since.

You have a new thermocouple but haven't installed it yet? Seems like a good place to start to me.

RE: Thor Chateau Sport 2000

Wow, hope you have a good fire extinguisher handy. Possibly you could remove all the related light fixtures and inspect to see if the insulation on one of the wires might be wearing through on a sharp piece of aluminum siding or something?
