RE: Water hose storage??

I wonder how something like this would work. Link It doesn't say drinking water but I guess I could replace the hose. The size would fit in my bin. Man it would be nice to just pull out how much hose you need then have it retract.

Water hose storage??

I need a new water hose my cheap 50' Walmart hose is a kinked up mess. I did a search looking for a cheap hose reel with no luck. Maybe I just need a better hose but it would be nice if it had a reel to reel it up anyone know where to get something like that without spending a bunch? I found some in the $300+ range but I don't want to spend that much for my water hose.

RE: Car dolly's what to look for?

i just bought american car dolly. exactly what your're lookin for ! So you own this one and have no affiliation with the company if so how much have you used it? I saw it advertised on my local CL. I prefer electric brakes. I have had surge brakes on other trailers they are pain in the rear.

Car dolly's what to look for?

I want to get a tow dolly what features am I looking for? What tie down type? what design? I do not want to break the bank I have plenty of room to store it I already own 2 16' car hauler trailers one enclosed and one open but don't want to deal with a trailer that size. I don't want to trade cars mine can't be towed 4 down a 2008 Mazda 6 auto FWD. I have the ability to repack or replace the bearings and races if needed. There are many on our local CL used. I am setup for electric brakes on our MH. What do I look for? Eventually I will get a different car that can be towed 4 down I have a tow bar that I got with our coach.

RE: Water system woes.

We have a trip planned for the end of July for 6 days dry camping we are going to have to do better with water conservation. They do have a guy that comes by for a fee and he empty's the sewer and fills with fresh water. Looks like I will need him every couple days. We are going to Dune Fest with our ATV's & UTV it is a blast anyone on here going? It is at Winchester Bay Oregon July 23rd thru the 28th.

RE: Water system woes.

Well surprise the tank was empty. That surprises me my RV's before this one would always have full black and grey water tanks before the fresh water was empty. Now I know the gauge for fresh water is not accurate as it read a 1/4 tank. I opened the fresh water drain and nothing came out so I closed it put some water in the tank and like magic the pump built up pressure and shut off. Feel kinda dumb now for even posting this. But I still need to get some filters.

RE: Water system woes.

If the valve is not shifted from shore water the water pump will continue to run. Check you main input valve and make sure that it is not on shore water. I will check it but it worked good for the first day I will make sure it is fully closed. Thanks I need things to check.

Water system woes.

My 05 expedition seems to give me a new issue to track down each time we use it. This last weekend dry camping on the Oregon Coast day 2 the water pump would not shut off. I need to track down the issue the tank gauge shows it still has a 1/4 tank of water and I would be very surprised if it was empty knowing how much water was used. I replaced the water filter before we left but I will check that anyway. I also need to check to see if there is a screen trap. I need to order some new filters it has a Watts 10" single stage filter housing. I see filters rated from 10 microns down to .5 microns with prices all over the place. I would like to order several anyone have a good source? The filters are 2.5" x 10" they actually measure less than that but that seems to be the right ones. Thanks Mike

RE: Rooftop ac repair

You might find the compressor is also made for other applications and find a replacement that way or maybe not good luck. Good job on fixing one of them.

RE: Front AC not working?

Have you replaced the compactor on the front one. Worthwhile cheap fix. I replaced both and fixed the issue. What is the compactor?

RE: Front AC not working?

I used a register deflector available at most good hardware stores. Works great to get the air where I need it most! Quick and easy. That is a good idea thanks.

RE: Front AC not working?

This is the vent cover it has Vent cover If you close the louvers almost all air is forced to the rear of the coach there are only 2 round vents forward and hardly any air moves forward through them. With the vent cover removed it pushes a lot of air. The vent can't be turned around because of the fresh air portion of the vent. I need a way to divert some air forward. The unit is a Coleman Airxcel model 8534B8797

RE: Front AC not working?

It was clean under the cover what I found is it cools just fine but the duct work is not designed very well almost all the air is pushed to the rear of the coach. If you close off the ducts under the AC unit and force the air through the ducts most of the air goes to the rear of the coach leaving the front portion with that huge window very hot. I am going to design a new vent cover that I can direct more air forward. I machine plastic for a living so I will just make a nice new vent cover for the inside that has some vents to push air forward.

RE: Front AC not working?

I have been playing around with it and it does seem to put out cold air just not very much, it doesn't seem to make any difference on fan speed the amount of air does not change. I have taken the top off of it and looked for any blockage it all seems clear and it is not as dirty as I would have thought. It may be a fan relay or the fan motor is tired. I am letting it run again to make sure the coil is getting cold.

RE: Front AC not working?

Is this a single unit basement A/C ? This could be a ductwork flap problem Or A #2 compressor problem You need some one to look at Model# and Mfg brand info, will get you more answers and probably better This is a double roof type system I believe they are Coleman but I need to pull the cover off and check.

Front AC not working?

My 34' 2005 coach has 2 zones for the AC the front does not seem to be blowing cold air. The rear AC unit zone 2 is very cold. Couple that with the dash air not blowing very cold air and the front of the coach is pretty hot you could hang meat in the bedroom in the back. I figure I probably need a new unit but was wondering if there is anything I can check? If I do need a new unit is this a DIY job or is it something that needs to be done at an RV shop? I have DIY skills and a forklift to load unload the AC unit and a background in mechanical and electrical but I am not an RV tech. I plan to have the dash air looked at. I also noticed the dash heat in the winter did not work well. The valves in the heater lines are turned on right now. I plan to turn them off and try the dash air again before having it worked on. Thanks Mike Have a happy fathers day!!
