RE: Winter Battery Storage

I just leave my trailer plugged in year round. Last battery survived 10 years. It is quite common to see -30F here in the winter

RE: tire time

I went with these just a month ago. So far so goot. I know they artent the best tires in the world, but they fit my budget and sure beat the tires that were on there since 2005. Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires linkhttps://www.amazon.com/Carlisle-Radial-Trail-Trailer-Tire-235/dp/B01M0OCK5G

RE: Roof reseal

BIG SNIP FOR SPACE Thanks for any help you can give a guy. Hi, On your EPDM roof, SUPER HUGE SNIP FOR SPACE Hope this helps John I dont know what to say here. That has got to be, hands down, the very best response I have ever gotten on any forum in all of the years of the interwebs. You answered everything that I asked with great technical thought. Thank you very much for restoring a little faith in humanity.

RE: Roof reseal

What is the oem roof made from? It is EDPM roof What rubber roof paint? One of the best is Heng’s. Not sure what the brand is. I got it at Menards. One of my customers did his about 5 years ago with the stuff and it is holding up great.

Roof reseal

My trailer is getting some age on it and has never had any roof maintenance done so I think it is time to get it done. I had a vent start leaking on our last camping trip so I figured why not just do everything. First question it what is the best way to remove all the old calk around all the vents and stuff. second...about how many tubes of goop will I need. Its a 35 foot 5th wheel with single AC unit, 3 powered vents, sky light, and 3 plumbing vents. I hate to be short half way through the job but also hate to have a bunch of extra sitting around. I also have the rubber roof paint. Should it be painted before calk or after. Thanks for any help you can give a guy.

RE: Electric tongue Jack blows fuses

Dont think in all my years I ever saw a jack with a fuse. I just put an electric jack on my car trailer and the instruction had me wire directly to the battery. My landing gear on my 5th wheel has self resetting a circuit breaker in line but thats the most I ever saw

RE: 50-amp electrical cable plugs in, the black screw “ring”

People actually use that thing? I have never in the 10 years I have had my trailer actually used it.

RE: Fresh water dump inside help

Just get a pool hose and adapter and run it out the door. Or worst case turn the pump on and run it down the sink drain and out the gray water dump. pool vac hose adapter of sorts

RE: Getting gas with long trailer?

I guess I have been doing this for so many years that I have forgotten that it is a bit more difficult to gas up with the trailer. I always make sure to top off before hooking up to hit the road. I always start looking for fuel at a half tank in case the station doesnt look to inviting, so I can be sure to have enough to get to the next town if needed. When we get to our destination I always make sure the truck is topped off before hooking back up. My biggest concern towing the 5th wheel is overhead clearance. We have one station that we use frequently that we can not get under one side of the pumps or the AC unit will be gone. Other side is just fine. There is a hump in the concrete where we have to swing wide and it raises the trailer on one side just enough that we cant make it.
