RE: Fifth wheel Jerking with gas truck... not as noticeable

I would check for a mechanical problem with the trailer. bearings , out of round brake drum, wheel not concentric to the hub.

RE: Jackson to Moab

I usually take 89 south to I15. This passes by Bear Lake. Take I15 to highway 6, highway 6 turns into 191 at Helper. 191 between Flaming Gorge and Vernal is a pretty steep drop, with a lot of switchbacks. Keep your speed in check down the hill if you go that way.

If not check the left front door speaker. Gary

RE: Trailer hitch height adjustment and chain question

Do not twist the chains. Replace the hooks with clevis hooks, they will let you adjust the length of the chain. https://www.amazon.com/CURT-81920-Safety-Latch-Clevis/dp/B000BMXICE

RE: Anode Rod Wear

That's what the rods from my heater look like after 1 year. They are not expensive so I just put in a new one in the spring. I use the Suburban rods, they seem to hold up better. Suburban 232767 Anode Rod

RE: Towing with lifted truck; need assistance

How much larger than the stock size are the tires? If the axles were not re-geared to make up for the taller tires the towing capacity will be reduced. Wider tires also have more rolling resistance. Honestly I wouldn't tow anything over 20' or over 8K with it.

RE: Not bad for 11 years and 240,000 miles.

We have an 09 6.0 GMC with 86000 miles on it. Still on the original brake pads. I polished the headlights this year. The drivers seat has a small tear in it. The dash has a couple of cracks. The only mechanical problem so far has bee the transmission cooler lines had to be replaced because they were leaking. I'm thinking the shocks need to be replaced. It has the common problem with the paint on the top of the cab drying out and cracking, starting to show a little rust in the cracks. Planning on getting it fixed this winter.

RE: Leaving camper setup and leveled

Our trailer has the ground control 3.0 auto leveling. I keep it leveled all the time when it's in the storage facility. I don't have room to open the slides. Power is disconnected to the leveling system with all the jacks down. I have added a switch to remove power to the jacks even with the batteries connected. With the jacks down and no easy way to raise then it makes the trailer a little harder to steal. In the Lippert manual it says that the jacks can be left extended when in storage, they recommend spraying the exposed shafts with silicone to prevent corrosion. Even after months with no power the system will auto retract and return to hitch height once power is restored. Gary

RE: Lippert six point levelling jacks

I use blocks under the low side tires to get the trailer within 2 or 3 inches of being level before I auto level. If I don't the jacks will lift the low side tires off the ground. I have a bubble level on the front of the fifth wheel to help getting it level side to side.

RE: Few parts needed

Command electronics probably made the lights. That's what was on our 2005 Rvision. https://www.commandelectronics.com/ Most likely this one or this one. Gary

RE: Using a Cpap in my AF 27-5

Most resmed machines run on 24 volts. Go to cpap.com search for resmed 12v cable in the search box, find the one for your machine. You will need a 12v socket added to the trailer to use the cpap machine on 12v. Running it off 12 volts is more efficient than using an inverter.
