RE: rt 68 off I75

Sorry, I'm looking at rt 68 starting in Tennessee around sweetwater then picking up 294, to 19/129 into the Blairville Georgia area. Never came to from the north before, traveling in a TC and pulling a 12' trailer. Don't wish to end up on any roads not meant for rv's. Thanks....

RE: VIN for cabover camper

I have the same camper only a 2000 model. Mine also only has five numbers I would just add zeros in front.

RE: Mosquitos

Thermacell works better then anything I've used. If it's hot you can also use a fan as they don't fly well in wind.

RE: Rafter J-Bar / Custer / Rushmore

Next year would be the year to avoid if your not a biker as it's the 80 year for the rally. The 75 was huge and the 76 was way down.

RE: Anyone ever use one of these

I refill mine, but check them for leaks after filling I've had a few leak.

RE: Commercial vehicles in national parks

I would think if ads on vehicles were a problem you wouldn't see rental rvs in the park as some have ads on them. However I would still do the leg work and call several parks.

RE: Leaving the trailer in Florida for the summer

I would also cover the tires, as well as the other suggestions.

RE: Iowa to Fort Myers, Fl route

Both the corps parks on the river are nice. now the condition on the river could be a problem depends on how much water is released from the lake.

RE: Just found water damage

I would check the fittings under the window.

RE: 100% Gasoline vs 10% Ethanol

camilllit...... us old car guys know the effects ethanol has caused us as well as the marine and small engine owners. I'm sure/hope your also aware of what low zinc in motor oils can cause. Our Pontiacs are orphans and need good care.

MFL.... agree with everything you wrote just didn't want to get in that deep.

RE: 100% Gasoline vs 10% Ethanol

This is like trying to convince someone who always owns GM that another brand is better. From my screen name you can guess what I think of corn in gas. Even in our 2005 vehicle if it sits for three weeks I'll need to run a can of sea foam to straight it out.

RE: Clearwater Beach Florida

If your class c will fit in a standard space you can probably find a spot if you go early and on a week day. Very few free spaces on the beach. Maybe best to park in downtown Clearwater and catch the ferry or trolley.

RE: Camper window for aft of cab leaks

My leaked also after a few years. I was able to slow it by forcing some rope between the glass and the frame. Now a hand towel on the step takes care of the rest. My breakers and convertor is under the step so water from that window could be a real problem.

RE: National Park and National Forests Bummer

Wow never happened, but if it did I would move to another site if available, If not I would set up on the same site and let the ranger/host settle it. I always say it easier to get along but no a REQUIRMENT....

My old carryout is suppose to work with Dish and Directv will just need to know which receivers i'll need. Glad to hear I have ten months to decide.

RE: Directv H25 problems

campermama,Thanks for the info on the new date. I'm still waiting on my letter, wonder why they pushed the date forward 10 months. Maybe they do have concerns about rv users switching to dish. I'll be trying my replacement D-12 in the RV soon but also taking the H-25 and swm kit just in case the D-12 doesn't lock on to the satellite.

RE: tpms

I also use the TST 507 system.I like it so much I leave the ones on the truck all the time lets me know if the tires need air. I have found it to be real accurate.

RE: TV battery life? And Interstate longeivity? Diesel trucks.

I'm on my third set on my 2003 duramax. I live in florida and haven't notice much problems with the heat killing batteries. I have a set of group 29 in my boat which I used a year in the camper prior to switching to 6 volts. The sticker is 2010 so I'll probably replace them this year as there not anything worse then a boat that won't start when offshore. The one problem I have noticed is motorcycle batteries not lasting more then 3 to 4 years. I do use battery tenders for batteries not used often.
