How do you feel about your corner bed?

I love all these 32' units with their walk-around queen beds, but I'm not enthusiastic about their length. So I'm wondering how you feel about...okay, I'll say it--being "stuffed" into your corner bed in a shorter coach? Is it a constant hassle to make up? Do you use sleeping bags? Where do you get bedding?

AC air smells acrid

Is there something nontoxic you can spray on your AC filter "sponge" to make the air smell better?

Fitted sheets for corner bed

Where can I find fitted sheets for the corner bed in these shorter Class Cs?

RE: Toilet bowl no longer holds water

So do you take the rubber seal off, or do you squeeze the wire between it and the flapper?

Toilet bowl no longer holds water

I can fill the bowl with 2-3 inches of water, but it drains out in about 30 seconds. I assume it's the valve seal. What's the fix for this?

RE: Honda 2000 not drawing gas from aux fuel tank

I found the problem, thanks to you guys. Missing an O-ring at thr aux tank fitting.

Honda 2000 not drawing gas from aux fuel tank

I've got the classic aux tank setup with Honda 2000 attached to a 6 gallon marine fuel tank using marine fittings. This has worked perfectly for two years. Going off its own tank, the Honda runs like butter. This week, however, the Honda just isn't taking up fuel from the aux tank. I've checked everything I can think of. I'm camped at 5200 ft if that might have anything to do with it. Usually I'm at sea level.

RE: No power from new solar panel

Hi, What is the battery voltage? Double check to make sure input to the controller is correct polarity and correct terminals. Voltage at the controller is 18.63 (or -18.63 depending on which probe on the micrometer.) What would happen if I just switch the panel wires leading into the controller. Will that fry something?

RE: No power from new solar panel

Did you check polarity as 'twodownzero' suggested above? And are you certain you connected the panel to the proper input terminals on your controller? There was only one way to connect it, given the locking MC4 plugs available. Knowing the dude who installed this, I'm sure he got the polarity right.

RE: No power from new solar panel

not much cept the panel makes volts. Controllers are powered by the battery. Good reason to hook up battery first before panel! Does the panel make amps? What does this mean " I'm not getting any input from my new 100W Renogy solar panel." No LED, no display ? All I could see was the battery level (12.4) on the LED before I started poking around with my multimeter, touched the battery pins on the controller and blew the inline fuse (grrr...) So what I was saying was the PV light never lit up. Now I need to go into town and get a new fuse.

RE: No power from new solar panel

Okay, so I did that and got 18.3 (volts?) all the way up to the controller. What does that tell me?You have power to the controller. So that means the controller must be fried?

RE: No power from new solar panel

Put a volt meter across the panel itself, without any connection to the controller. Maybe a bad or disconnected diode? So just stick a probe into each lead? (Excuse my ignorance.) Okay, so I did that and got 18.3 (volts?) all the way up to the controller. What does that tell me?

No power from new solar panel

I have existing solar wiring in my Casita running through a Renogy ViewStar controller. The controller is communicating with my battery. However, I'm not getting any input from my new 100W Renogy solar panel. Inline fuse is good. What should I look for?

RE: If you had a do-over, which would you get?

OP here. Thanks for all the thoughtful answers. I should have mentioned at the start that I'm not concerned about fuel mileage. My interest is more in serviceability, longevity, towing capacity, range, noise, cost (in extremis) of a total engine replacement--almost every aspect other than fuel consumption. Around here, diesel can cost 30-40% more than gas, so that pretty much cancels out the diesel mileage advantage.

Where to finance?

Who is offering the best financing on a new Class C? I have a credit rating well north of 800 so I think I can qualify anywhere. I'm taking a very hard look at a 2019 Forest River Forester 3051S.

How do you manage without a toad?

Looking to buy a 32' Forester, a little long for a daily driver. ;) My Land Cruiser can't be flat towed, and I hate to think of downgrading to a Jeep. So I'm wondering if I'll feel site-bound if I travel without a toad?

I have a '97 4x4 4Runner (with over 400,000 miles, BTW :)) that I'd like to toad flat, if possible. Is anybody doing this?

If you had a do-over, which would you get?

Honestly, if you could do it again would you go for a Mercedes diesel or a Ford V10?
