RE: tested the blue camco filter with a TDS meter

We refill used gallon milk jugs with city water from the house. We use that for cooking and coffee. Bottled water for drinking. Bath and toilet water from the campground. Don't use a filter.

RE: timbrens

I am replacing the air bags on my F-350 and have a question.. My fiver is around 3k pin depending on trip.. The truck squats a little bit when loaded, I was thinking of going Timbren this time around... Anyone have good-bad experiences? Are they leveling the truck as stated? All my weights are in order, so let's not go there.. just purely a leveling helper.... Thumbs up for the Timbrens!!

RE: Texas Hill Country Ideas

We stayed in Fredericksburg at the ladybird Johnson Park. Really enjoyed the downtown area and local vineyards. Watched the bats come out of the tunnel was amazing. In San Antonio we stayed at the San Antonio KOA. Just take the bus to the River Walk. No need to worry about finding a parking spot.

RE: Anything to see?

After Branson, if you're going through Kansas, be sure to stop at Hutchins for the Cosmosphere and Space Center! Every bit as interesting as the Smithsonian Space Museum. https://cosmo.org/ It's a real hidden gem. Thanks, this looks interesting.

RE: Anything to see?

Thanks for the suggestions, but i'm still looking for more suggestions for two separate nights stay in between Branson and Rapid City. There has to be something to see. LOL.

Anything to see?

We are planning a trip this summer to Montana. We will be stopping in Branson. From Branson we will head towards Rapid City and Custer SP. My question is. Is there anything to see or do in between Branson and Rapid City? I know I will be making at least 2 stops along the way.

RE: Truck bed plug or just use plug in bumper for 5th wheel

I've been plugging into the bumper plug since 2008. Never had any problem.

RE: Ouray, CO- Ouray RV Park and Ouray KOA-Recommendations

Hi folks, Planning to visit Ouray, CO in mid to late May/early June 2020 and thinking about booking either the Ouray RV Park or Ouray KOA campgrounds for a week or two for some off ride driving on the old mining roads. I’m leaning towards Ouray RV Park as my choice as the KOA appears to have most sites very close together and more expensive. Looking to see if anyone has stayed at either and your opinions. I’d be reserving a full hookup 30 amp site for a travel trailer. Thanks! Given your timeline, something to be aware of is that many of the OHV/Jeep trails in the area, particularly at higher elevation, will likely still be snowed in. And if the upcoming winter is anything like this past one, it could be July before some of those trails open. Something to consider, and perhaps have a Plan B for a different location. I agree, the off road trails will still be snowed in in May and June. If you can postpone your trip till the middle of July or later. Some of the trails didn't open till august this year. And no later than the middle of September.

RE: Cut off date for Direct TV service

What I'm understanding is in March 2020 DTV will no longer transmit local channels in Standard definition. The king domes don't receive local channels anyway. I am not hearing that they are eliminating all SD programming. I just had my camper receiver replaced with a HD receiver free from DTV. I still receive all the SD channels off of the King dome. I'm not expecting to loose them later.

RE: Texas road map

I'm not outsmarting the issue... Where can I gat a Texas road map to carry in our rig? I have a truckers book of maps, but would like to get an actual paper map. Internet searches don't help yet. Stop at any Texas welcome center and pick one up.

RE: Free Lippert Trailair Rota Flex Pin Box

I would love to take you up on that. I've been looking at them and almost bought one last year. I have a long trip planned for next year from South Louisiana to Billings MT and back. The only problem is I am in South Louisiana.

RE: Carlsbad Caverns NM

The KOA north of town is probably the best campground but it is 30 to 45 minutes to the caverns depending on traffic thru town. Coming from that KOA there is a by-pass about 10 miles South of the park that takes you on the West edge of town missing all of that down town area Yes. I forgot about that bypass. About a mile shorter and way less traffic and lights. KOA to Caverns is a 45 mile 1 hour drive. We stayed there and I didn't like the distance to the caverns. we would go in the morning to the caves and go back in the evening to see the bats. The first night the bats didn't come out, so we had to do it again the next day. It's a great RV park, but it's just too far away.

RE: Do you tow a Jeep behind your 5th wheel?

Fan of trucks and either I use my Ram or Jeep when towing my rv. If you are planning to that you might want to use a hitch. recommending this hitch https://www.jeepsareus.com/sku/82208219.html. What model of Jeep do you own as each model can only tow a specific weight at the back? The camper is a 5th wheel.

RE: Sumo Springs

See some people are putting sumo springs on axles of their 5th wheels. wondering could that make a difference in handling. weren't they designed to help keep truck from squatting when loaded. I put Timbrens. Same principle. Some say the Timbrens are better for towing on trucks. And sumos are better for Motorhomes.

RE: Do you tow a Jeep behind your 5th wheel?

By the time you outfit everything for safe towing, you could rent a Jeep for a month probably cheaper Rented a Jeep in Moab for two days, $230.00/day. All I need to do is get a wireless tail light for $100.00 and I'm set. I've already towed the Jeep to Colorado 5 times behind the truck without the 5th wheel. I've towed my boat behind the 5th wheel a couple of times here in Louisiana. We just have a length requirement. I'll do my best to find out what I can in the other states.

Do you tow a Jeep behind your 5th wheel?

I've seen people do this. If you do this what advice would you give me. I am planning a long trip from South Louisiana to Billings Montana next year. I would love to bring my Jeep with me since we will be there for a month or two. I plan on driving maybe 400 miles or less per day. and taking about 2 weeks to get there.
