RE: Typical price for Class A tire mounting and balance

...I have Michelin tires right now, but I'd like to go to Toyo tires...
That's exactly what I did. My Michelins were not old, low mileage, covered when not in use....and cracked...over rated and over priced.

RE: Oil changes

I change my four wheel vehicle's oil myself, but as noted above, I don't want to have to get rid if 10 1/2 gallons of MH oil, so I found a mom and pop diesel shop. They change the oil and filter and lube the chassis for an hour's labor...$75...just went up from $65. I furnish the oil and filter, they use the oil to fuel their shop furnace. It's a win win.

RE: Motorhome tires

Good choice on the Toyos. I got mine at Southern Tire Mart, they ordered them.

RE: Motorhome tires - recommendations.

We just added a set of Toyos on our Newmar. Took off an aged out set of Michelins. Toyos ride better and handle better
Same here....Michelins are fine on pick ups/autos/SUVs, but have many problems with 22.5 tires. Mostly cracking that requires changing, they are over rated and way over priced.

RE: In Search of Local Repair Shops for Motorhome

Keep looking...for a mom and pop place. Ask RV dealers, Camping World, etc. It took me over a year, but I finally found one, that will work on a MH. I had one who said he'd work on it....until he found out he'd have to go inside the MH to do some things...then he was out, insurance issues.

RE: Toyo tires

Can't answer the motorhometires.com question, but the Toyos are great tires.

RE: Diesel Chassis service

Ask around and see if you can find a good mom and pop place. I've had much better luck with them than with the big named places.

RE: Slides out or autolevelers down first?

Always level first. Otherwise if off level the slides can and will go out uneven and may cause damage.
For Sure!

RE: Foggy windows help please

Do not, under any circumstances, use The Auto Glass Boss, 9417 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207. We paid $600 to have three half glass windows, that were compromised, repaired. One window was okay, one was compromised in a few weeks and is still full of water between the lenses and the other leaks water every time it rains.

RE: Michelin vs Toyo tires

From what I have read, most Michelin problems appear to be on the 22.5" RV tires, no problems with smaller tires on sedans, SUVs and pickups.

RE: Michelin vs Toyo tires

I've never had a problem with Michelins on a car or pick up, and this latest issue with the RV 22.5" tires seems to be relatively new. But there is no doubt, they are doing something, or putting something into the tire that is causing serious problems. I'm convinced some of the new RV manufacturers still put Michelins on their RVs because of their reputation....which is now heading south rapidly.

RE: Michelin vs Toyo tires

Michelin is having a rough time with 22.5" MH tires. They are having so many problems with cracking, they have published a document with pictures showing three levels of cracking, going from ok to use, to change now. I changed my Michelins at 30k and five and a half years due to cracking. I don't care what they say, I'm not heading out with cracked tires...I've had a RF blowout, and don't want another.
Go to one of the big RV forums, like iRV2.com (https://www.irv2.com/forums/) and check what the readers say about Michelins.

RE: Heat pump blowing cold air

As noted above, heat pumps aren't much good unless it's not cold outside. We have one and never use it.

RE: Newmar question

Call Newmar with the VIN, they can answer your question. It doesn't really matter, both will work fine.
