RE: Wanna bring a golf cart and a Jeep towed

Maybe you could get the new Jeep Pickup and put the golf cart in the pickup bed the same way all those NASCAR drivers do with a F150 with a GC in the bed. Tow 4 down and it's all good!

RE: Class A Fulltimer freeze concerns

At night you might not run the furnace enough to keep the bays warm. Getting a remote thermometer is great advice and you can adjust you bay heat as necessary. A couple of light bulbs, small personal heater(s), heat mats, freeze cubes can all be added as necessary to keep everything underneath warm. Much depends upon "how cold and how long". We long term in very cold weather at times without issue but it does take some interaction on your part.

RE: Help with full timing over the winter

It's been answered by many. I can start a new list and others can jump in if you like. Too hot. Too humid. Too many bugs. God's waiting room. Too many reckless old folks behind the wheel. Did I mention the bugs? Love bugs twice a year are the worst other than the killer skeeters that keep you indoors all mornings and all evenings.

RE: replacement for Directv

You can also do the exact same thing with ANY DTV hardware including the Genie and Genie 2. You just need a full sized antenna mounted on a tripod or an auto point roof antenna like the Winegard Trav'ler (no domes). Move the equipment between RV and home seamlessly.

RE: Does anyone use Google FI for their cellular service?

The Google FI site is a bit confusing and possibly misleading. Under the $70/month plan it says unlimited data but.... "Unlimited data High-speed data up to 22 GB/person & slower after. Video may stream at DVD-quality (480p)." The $20/month plan (+$10/GB max $60 more) does not say anything about speeds or limits.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

It looks like a door designed for the next Zombie Apocalypse. No one is getting through that door! No need for screens!

RE: Cummins 5 year old synthetic oil with 1000 miles - change ?

Asking for a friend, (really) He has a 36 foot HR with a Cummins. He's broke and this is his primary residence. Other than switching campgrounds seasonally and pumping tanks he has no miles on the oil but he feels he needs to change it before taking a trip. He's 75 and is in cancer treatment. $200 for an oil change is a lot of money. Can he put 10,000 more miles on this oil? thanks $200 is cheap insurance. Most manufacturers recommend the oil be changed at a certain mileage limit or once a year. To answer your question directly, YES, he "can" put 10,000 more miles on this oil. Is this a good idea? I would say no but he is the only one who can answer that question. Call Cummins and I can assure you they will give you the same answer as mine. Call Cummins!

RE: Shaw Direct/Winegard

Sounds like a bad solution. Winegard does not appear to have been able to find a solution and is simply telling their users what to do as a work-around.

RE: Does anyone use Google FI for their cellular service?

Google Fi is just too expensive to use if you plan to use it for much more than the most casual surfing. $20 per month with $10 per gig up 6 Gig with a burst over to 15 gigs. Minimum of $30 per month, that's expensive? I generally use 60-100GB/month. Yes, that's expensive! If you plan to use WiFi as your primary TV source, Yes, that's going to be expensive.

RE: Truck bed liner on roof

Actually, this version of the material is specifically made for RV roofs.

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

That's what Starlink is for - you're never without :) Never? You need to do a little more research! Clear view? Trees? Parts of the Country not covered or only covered for predefined periods? Yes, maybe 100% (assuming clear view) in 20 years and 100's (1000's?) of satellites, but everyone everywhere at an affordable price? Take a look at what happened when Iridium tried the same thing a number of years back.

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

But he doesn't bother to mention things like data caps and lack of cellular coverage. It's an entirely different ball game out here. If this was a home internet forum I would likely agree with some of his concepts (other than sat TV going away). But it's not and I can't.

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

TIMMAC MAKES A GREAT POINT IN HIS LAST POST. HE IS NOT DOING ANY OF THIS IN AN RV!!!!!! His fantasy becomes even more obvious when you understand he's in a house posting BS on an RV forum.

Timac's World has nothing at all to do with reality. Let him lives his fantasy. Just understand that it is a fantasy.

RE: Using Winegard Satelite Dish Far From Home???

Personally, I would select 18" round at that will pull in 101 only. There's nothing available on 119 unless you use some special language programming. The dome (an R4, not P4) also has 2 outputs. If you (or someone) ran both coax into the coach you can use the 2nd tuner of the DVR as well. Glad to hear you have it working! Thanks for the info. The reason we selected (18 x 20 “triple-sat-LNB) instead of (18” Round LNB) was when we first called Winegard helpline several months back, that is what they sugested. I will try 18" Round LNB next time we have the receiver out there. The display showed two 101 satellites and two 119 satellites. It showed a check mark by both 119's, but only one of the 101's. If 119's don't have anything on them I need, then I don't need them. I'm pretty sure our model number is P4, but I will check it again. The dome came with our 2019 Lance truck camper and was installed at the factory. It appears they only ran one coax. Thanks for your help, bradw While I am not familiar with a P4, there is also not an R4, my bad. There is a T4 (watch TV while in motion), D4 Durasat (most meant for truckers) and a G3 (auto dome but works while parked only).
