RE: Dish & Wally Receiver

The truth is they will all work about the same. If you are unhappy with 1 dome you will likely be unhappy with the other. Bigger is simply better.

RE: RV satellite

All the small domes from Winegard or King Controls will perform about the same. The Pathway X2 has a much larger antenna and will handle E and W satellites.

RE: Can't Use King Quest Satellite Dish with OEM Wiring

If you have a good run from the outside cable connection to the Winegard power supply just follow my directions for adding an A/B switch. Done! Be sure to use a good A/B switch with a description that includes High Isolation.

RE: Dish & Wally Receiver

In theory, two properly working domes should preform about the same. The Pathway X2 would give you better performance due to the larger reflector.

RE: Can't Use King Quest Satellite Dish with OEM Wiring

In many, many cases there are splitters in the 5th wheel wiring and when that's the case you can't use the cable connection (designed for cable, not satellite) for any type of satellite connection. If you are lucky and there are no splitters all you need is an A/B switch. Remove the Winegard wall plate and there will be 3 connections. Cable, antenna and Out to TV. Remove the Cable connection and connect that to the single input on the A/B switch. Then run new coax jumper cables from the A/B output side. One will go directly to the satellite receiver and the other will go back to the cable connection on the wall plate.

RE: Hopper receiver with hitchhiker dish

As mentioned, the Hopper will not work with any dome style antenna. You need a Trav'ler, Eagle or a home style antenna mounted on a tripod if you need something cheap and portable.

Obsessive? No, how could it be?!

RE: JUst how many GB are needed?

I don't do anything more than it sounds like you do except my wife and I do play some of the games on Facebook. I don't think I have ever used less than 50 GB/month. When I changed computers and had to updated everything I used about 100 GB that month. We full time and a cellular connection is our only option so everything runs through or MiFi.

Good. Just wanted to be perfectly clear. Wahoo!! Yep. If you look back over my many years of posts, I have never been wishy-washy about my opinions. HOWEVER, that's the great thing about opinions. EVERYONE is allowed to have them and no one is required to agree.

RE: Camp Kitchen with Sink that connects to outside shower?

Sorry, but I am not sure about your intentions. Is there a problem with washing dishes inside?

RE: building new campground

The OP just needs to keep in mind who the parks customer would be. They ARE NOT going to get any overnight visitors looking for a quick easy stop while traveling from point A to point B along an Interstate highway. 20-40 miles farther or shorter and you will find an RV park within a mile or 2 of the Interstate. As a destination I suspect that any RV park has done their due diligence to discover if there is any reason an RVer would be interested in visiting the attractions in the area. If you are interested in only overnighters without the expectation of a few days stay, 8 miles from the Interstate is NOT going to work.

RE: Diminshed Value Claims

Come on, get over yourself. Don't let the lawyers sway you from reality. Just make a settlement with the insurance companies and move on. I know we would rather sue someone in hopes of getting rich, but the reality is that an accident happens by accident. If if did not it would be called an "on purpose".

RE: Fuel economy

Wow, I like that kind of math. It makes the 5.5 MPG that I get with my Prevost sound much better when I use that formula for 2 vehicles!

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Of course you disagree, you are the one rambling on. At least that last post about the wheel wells (the last, right?) shows how little walking room you will be dealing with in the center of the coach. It should be interesting to see how the inside develops. Wheel well boxes are about 26 inches each, which will leave around 37" in between for walking. A flat floor sure would be nice. Technically, I could raise the floor up to the height of the well boxes, but I don't see that happening. That would only leave me about an inch and a half of headroom. Although if I did, the entire floor could become storage. I could really overload the chassis! Lol. So you have 3 feet (plus an inch) walking room. That's why folks are insisting that their class A coach have slides. I am not of the slide persuasion but I have more central walking area than 37". Even if you can figure out how to use the engine hump as a table you are still stuck with the reality of the older RV's layout that did not allow much space in the center of the coach. You are going to have to build something over those wheel wells which will also reduce the walk way. Raising the floor would never have been a thought by me or you (well, at least it would not have been a thought by you but who knows!)

RE: New to the board and Class A scene

Just be sure the dealer makes sure the tires are good. If the tires are original, they need to be replaced. The DOT stamp on the tires will show their exact age. Welcome to the Class A world. What do you plan to tow?

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

I like every RV update. I get bored by your insistence of posting every aspect of your life. Yeah, yeah, it keeps you motivated by posting something.....Snore. I really don't care about your daughter, your PT Cruiser, your new PT Cruiser re-build or whatever other ramblings you manage to put into this personal blog. It's just amazing that this forum allows someone to post a blog when it is intended to be a forum. Don't think this is a forum topic? Let's add up the posts made by you compared the minuscule number of responses. It's just you, posting about you, in a topic that has nothing to do with a tear down and rebuild of a Pace Arrow but more a tear down and complete redesign (crazy design at best) that no one will ever be able to use in the future. Just like the roof design nonsense. It might be important to you to redesign the RV from the ground to the roof but no one else is going to redesign the roof line to create a drip edge instead of a gutter. You know this stuff is crazy but it appears you reveal in the absurd and that should be the topic...."Taking a 1987 Pace Arrow and making something....heck, even I don't know!"

RE: WiFi, and Cell Phone boosters and Internet antennas

Verizon has very good coverage all over the place. It's hard to find a place around here that has verizon. "Here" means you are talking about a fairly limited area. The facts are the facts and the fact is that Verizon has more coverage than any other provider. With that said, I have gotten along just fine with AT&T for the last couple of years but "gotten along" is an accurate description as I had much better speeds with Verizon in most locations. I just couldn't afford to stay with Verizon.
