RE: How to re-caulk RV trailer roof?

Probably because that was not what the OP asked. Quite unusual though I will admit.:W Barney

RE: New couch ideas ???

We puarchased our leather recliner couch from Costco and a great recliner chair from Bradd and Hall located in Elkhart, IN. Neither one is the cheap quality stuff you get from many other outlets but high quality, comfortable, long lasting, good looking furniture.:) Barney

RE: Single screw on dump valve won’t…

I have forgotten how to post a picture! I think I had an app in my old iPad?? If you will follow these directions exactly, it is very easy to post pictures on our forums. One of our moderators, 1492, developed this photo posting app to post your pictures. It works for other internet sites also. There is no need to have a separate hosting site for your pictures in order to use it. It is very simple to use. Follow these directions exactly. 1. Upload your picture from your computer to the app. 2. Copy the resulting URL. 3. Paste that URL into your post without ANY changes. No additions or deletions. Your picture will then appear in your post and be properly sized for use on our forums.:) Note: Norton Lifelock does not like the site for some reason. I, and others, use it regularly without issue. When I get the red "Dangerous Webpage Blocked" message I just click on "continue to the site" down at the bottom and everything is ok. Have been doing this since 2014.

RE: First place to look re. where water got in to our TT

In addition to the excellent info from John, I would be checking the caulking under the clearance light base plates. Also the weep holes in the lens covers. Barney

RE: ATT and Galaxy Hot Spot issue

I'm using my new Galaxy S22 as a hotspot now on the Visible Party plan. Cost is $30 for unlimited data now although I am grandfathered in on my old $25 party pay plan. Very fast 5g coverage. Have been on this plan for about 3 years or so and have never had a place where we did not have good coverage. Barney

RE: WDH needed?

snip... WDH isn’t needed. The front rising is a result of the rear drop. Snip... That is the main reason for using a WDH. The rear axle acts like a teeter totter when you place a weight (tongue of trailer) 4 feet or so behind it and the WDH restores the front axle to its original configuration. In the process, it also raises the rear end - just like a teeter totter.:) Now I am not saying he needs to use one in this case but it would do the job and probably would make for a safer and more pleasant tow. RE: Recent cost to re-seal your roof by an RV tech/shop?

If two years ago is close enough, I had mine done a couple of years ago. My roof covering was completely torn off and replaced in three days by a very conscientious and well trained technician from RV Armor. They came to my trailer location out in the woods and did it right there on site. The cost was just a bit over $6000. I am completely thrilled with the work done and how the roof looks now. No more worry about leaks. My roof was a EDPM rubber roof that had had several coats of liquid roof applied with poor results and had lots of Eternabond tape at all seams. I elected for a complete tear off and recoat. I did not get a picture of the material he put down on the roof before the liquid part. It was some form of very strong mesh with a tight weave. The whole job was done in the woods in the upper part of Michigan during the late spring. As you can see by the pictures below, my roof looked terrible but was not leaking a bit as evidenced by the condition of the wood after the rubber was torn off. I was a bit worried but knew I had been quite proactive in taking care of it for the past 17 years. I would have no worries about recommending this company if you are looking to repair your roof or are interested in getting the longest life possible out of your rig. I was out to the rig a couple of weeks ago and the roof looks as good today as it did when he finished.:) Barney Roof before https://i.imgur.com/0BcJIkGl.jpg Rubber roof removed. https://i.imgur.com/y151of7l.jpg Roof right after applicationhttps://i.imgur.com/LByx2rpl.jpg Roof completed. RE: Heat Pump or Not

Yes Al, there is another retired USAF (He may have been Navy) Al Barber out there! He was a regular snowbird at the MacDill AFB Famcamp for many years - as were we. I don't know if he is still RVing or not or even if he is still alive. A lot of us are really getting up there in years!:E Thanks for answering my question. Barney

RE: Stiffer bars for Blue Ox hitch?

Tilt the hitch hear rearward back towards the trailer a bit more before you hook up. This will give you more tension on the WD bars with the same chain link as before and allow the bar to clear the battery tray. Barney

RE: New Awning cover ?

I replaced both my main awning and also the slideout awning a couple of years ago by ShadePro Awnings and was very satisfied both with the value of the material and the quality. I got the vinyl since our original awning was vinyl and had lasted over 17 years. The new awning material from them is much heavier and nicer than our original. I did the replacement myself with the help of my son. Watched several videos and wrote out the steps to follow. Turns out it was quite easy and we had no problems. Here is how it looks now - You can see the old awning material laying on the ground in front of the trailer :) Barney https://i.imgur.com/biKbfq1l.jpg

RE: Heat Pump or Not

Al, Welcome to the forums! We are glad you are here and hope you find all the information you need. You will find our members to be very knowledgeable and helpful for the most part. Are you by chance the same Al Barber I knew from the FamCamp down at MacDill AFB in the winter months? Barney
