RE: Quartzsite LTVA

Just arrived today. Darn hot!! 95° I guess. Supposed to cool off tomorrow. Not too many peeps here yet at South LaPosa. I haven't yet found a guard shack open to sell permits, don't know when that happens. I guess free rent for now. Some construction going on at the dump station, almost looks like they're building a scales.. some kind of elevated ramp thing. Verizon works great, evenings should be pleasantly warm. Running my Hondas for air.. gotta have air! Lots of flies and bugs however.

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

Nobody does this between stops. It takes a lot of pulls to start it with a dry carb. It's unlcear from your post what the new valve does. I would imagine gasoline smell emanates more from any gas spills on the outside of the generator. My Hondas don't stink.

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

Wise crack aside, I don't think it's an unreasonable question since nobody does this.

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

for transporting the generator between stops on a trip, it is nice to be able to run the carb dry,Why do you need to dry the carb between stops?

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

Why are people wanting to drain their carburetors? If your carb has never gummed up you've been lucky.

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

So oldman and driver, you would rather remove the cover and drain the gas in the carb to where?A paper towel.

RE: Using a tow vehicle as a windbreak while boondocking

Good idea. I do the same to protect my satellite dish. I don't know if those are the worst winds you've been in, but years ago on Lake Mead I really thought the 5er was going over.

Are you willing to pay $2 a month for a photo service? Not even the cost of most cups of coffee.

RE: Campground Maximum Length

We arrived at a campsite one time where there was a large branch just low enough that out 5th wheel couldn't get in but a travel trailer would have just made it under the branch.I don't know who is responsible for tree trimming in most parks but sometimes I have to wonder, what were they thinking? The main exit from Mesa Verde CG has this gigantic tree branch hanging right over the center of the roadway.. I'm guessing it's about 13-14' high, just enough to make me nervous. One of my favorite Utah CGs has a couple trees almost growing together right over the roadway, maybe the same height. I don't get why they do that.
