RE: Baltimore area campground

that is a tough area to find a good campground without a lot of traffic to get to Johns Hopkins. If you are retired or active duty military, Aberdeen Proving Ground has a great campground as well as Ft. Meade. Otherwise Abingdon is probably your best bet. Be careful going downtown to Johns Hopkins.

RE: Another ‘dadgum’ post re: tire PSI…please bear with me…

In your first post, you seem to discount the value of a four corner weighing. It really can identify issues that you may not be aware of that could be causing your problem. Also I agree with some of the other posters, tire pressure set too low is one of the primary cause of tire failure, along with the tires being overloaded.

RE: Operating on a 20amp circuit

just be sure you know what else may be on that line. We did almost exactly what you are describing at a friends house. Worked fine in the beginning but then house breaker would trip from time to time regardless of what was running in the coach. Turned out that his extra fridge in his basement was on the same line as the garage outlet we were using. when the fridge kicked on, house breaker would trip. once we got his fridge plugged into another outlet on another circuit, we were fine in the coach.

RE: Looking for Recommendations for a Replacement Water Pump

I would get a later model of the Shur-flo pump. Shur-flo pump we went with this one too. Much quieter than our original one.

RE: Onan generator

does your generator slide out for easy access? again, you will likely get better answers in the Class A section instead of the Class C section.

RE: HD sat dish needs replacing.....not covered?

most extended contracts exclude things that were not installed by the factory. Have you read your contract to see if it addresses this?

RE: What is your towing experience with Chrysler Pacifica

We just bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The towing capacity is rated at 3600 lbs. My wife wants to get a popup and all of them she wants are about 2500lbs or more empty. I don't want to tow up to capacity and she doesn't see the problem. Anybody out there towing with a Pacifica? What's your experience and how much do you tow? Have you had any vehicle problems? I'm especially concerned about the transmission because I can't choose the gear with Chrysler's spin-the-dial gear shift. Towing capacity is only one thing to consider. What is the GVWR for the vehicle? GVWR is the maximum weight capacity of a vehicle without a trailer attached. Towing capacity, on the other hand, is the maximum weight capacity of the vehicle, specifically in terms of how heavy of a trailer it can tow. How much will the Pacifica weigh with everyone in it and loaded to go camping and how much weight will hooking up the pop-up add to the Pacifica - i.e. the tongue weight?

RE: Allowing non-housebroken dog to move in

You are in a tough situation. You have my sympathy. Suggest you limit the dog to one room unless it is being closely monitored by a family member other than your Mother. That family member is going to have to watch the dog like a hawk and take it to do its business immediately with the hope that it can be trained properly. I would also suggest since it is a small dog that you google options for training a dog to use a litter box. Hopefully others will chime in with more suggestions.

RE: From the mouths of babes...

Reminds me of the First night of three day trip, 3 year old grandson says "PopPop you should live with me". Second night of trip, grandson says "PopPop I should live with you".

RE: Freshwater Hookup Port Question

we use a heavy duty sponge for tile grouting. Cut it to shape of the hole with a slit cut into the inside hole for the hose.

RE: Mystery

what make and model of coach? A bad ground wire is a known problem on Monaco coaches of a certain era. We had ours change several years ago and fixed it by running a new ground wire. We log our mileage every day so knew what it should be. We never bothered to have the odometer reset since we also have an Aladdin Junior system that also records the mileage.

Just make a list of costs that will go away such as property taxes on house, lawn care, home telephone, etc. Make another list of new or increased expenses such as rv fuel, campgrounds, increased data plans for cell phones, etc. Remember that your two biggest expenses - campgrounds & RV Fuel can be brought back down by simply sitting still for a while. No RV Fuel costs while not traveling and monthly campground rates are cheaper than weekly or daily campground rates. Sorry about the formatting issues above.

RE: Stopping at flying j, Cracker Barrel etc

*** Here is a thought.. support a local Campground..?? X3 you spent the $$ for the RV you can afford a camp ground. for everyone who says go to a campground, there will be another guy complaining about the person who woke them up pulling into a campground late at night and then leaving early in the morning

RE: Stopping at flying j, Cracker Barrel etc

All Stays WalMarts check out this website for WalMarts that allow overnight parking. I'm with you as far as not wanting to be that person who wakes everyone in the campground up when pulling in at 10 p.m. and then again at 6 a.m. in the morning.

RE: New to class A

unless you like camping in urban areas or you camp with other people who have a toad or you only camp places with their own shuttle service, I don't think you will be happy not having a toad of your own. just my opinion but for us, we didn't buy a motorhome so we could sit in a campground or spend our time getting rental cars.

RE: Atwood Furnaces 8531 & 8520

Depending on what gasket he is talking about, wonder why he did not replace it while in there??? my thought exactly! Because very few service centers have the required Gaskets. INCLUDING my Service center. It is extremely rare for a professional to damage or lose the required gasket. There is only 1 and that is the plate gasket that holds the burner in place. Doug Thank you Doug - that makes sense. Wish they had told us that.
