RE: Mildew/mold(?) on wood under roof

You are fine. It won't mold unless it keeps leaking and keeps it wet for awhile. If it was damp under the patch it will dry.

RE: Removing Eternabond

X3 heat gun plastic scraper. You don't need to get all of the stickum off. As long as it is clean the new tape will stick just fine.

RE: Bearing repack - hub noises?

If it has been sitting for awhile the rust on the drum will certainly make a dragging sound but I don't think it should stop in a quater of a turn. Probably adjusted a little too tight.

RE: When on inverter power GFCI won't reset

You probably know this already but what little I know about aGFI plug is the power has an In and out and it must be correct. Is it possible the inverter feeds form another direction than the shore power?

RE: No Hot water

Open the pressure relief valve and see if there is water in the tank. If not you have the heater bypassed. Should have a manual on the water heater to show how the bypass works on your rig.

RE: How do I remove round AC Ceiling vent?

There should be a ring around the grill . Pop it off and it will expose two screws to remove the grill itself.

Absolutely not necessary.

RE: TPMS Battery

I think the programming is in the monitor. All the sensor does is to sent temp and pressure readings. All you have to do is change the battery.Programming will be fine.

RE: Mount trailer tires yourself at home?

I watched three young men at Discount Tire wrestle with mounting the G rated tires for my rig to the point of exhaustion with a tire mount machine. Why would I want that kind of exercise at my age. If they were Chinese tires that ate as flexable as rubber bands, maybe.

RE: Water heater INOP on electric

Check wall plug also it could be loosing connection there. I had one that would do that but it should not do it setting still.

RE: Planning on pulling Cottonwood Pass Colorado

Should not be a problem if your rig is up to it. It is now paved on both sides. The recently paved West slope is as smoothe as glass. A few sharp curves so keep it under control.

RE: FURNACE NOT LISTED ON THERMOSTAT

The dip switches in the roof units determine what shows up on the thermostat. If you have not made any changes in the roof units then I suspect you are right about a bad control board. This is for Dometic units. Not ssure of other brands.

RE: Anybody else have trouble packing for camping

My only problem is moving it when my wife gets it loaded.

RE: Leave slide out?

I would pull them in. You need to exercise the motors and bearings ocasionally and you would unnecessarily be exposing the seals ans wipes to UV rays. Also if the slides are out I feel it is mor vunerable in a storm.

RE: Replacing ac/heat pump

Sure you can replace a heat pump with just an AC but I would go back with the same brand especially if you have two units. You will have to replace the therostat is you change brands.

RE: Where to jack

If you are lifting by the frame or with hydraylic levelers, do not lift all four wheels off the ground at one time. You could flip the shackles and that is a pain in the %%%%% to fix. I would not jack a wheel up like in the pictures unless I had a jack with a large enough head to fit over both U bolts or some other type of pad. There is too much weight on a very small area the way the picture shows. I suspect that is why the axle mfg recommends using the frame.

RE: Where to jack

According to the axle mfg you should use the frame in front and behind the wheels. I use a jack under the axle where the springs are bolted to the axle. I also use a board between the jack and the axles. If your axles are on top of the spring pack you don't need the board.

RE: Slide out roof question

You don't have to get all the sticky off just get it good and clean with simple green or something like that and the enernabond will stick just fine with the old sticky still on. You can use a hair dryer or heat gun to get most of the old tape offf. Just don't get it too hot.
